Hysterectomy on April 1st, need help with some questions

Hi:
I have been lightly spotting for about 5 weeks little light pink, than light tan like to much cream in coffee, not heavy, went to the Dr. He did a edometriosis (sp) biospy, came back negetaive, he did say he didn't get lot of tissue, He than had me do a vagingl ultra-sound, nothing showed up, I do have a fybroid that is a little enlarged with calcifictions around it which looke beign. I'm 67, had Breast Cancer 22 years ago, so I do get a little nervous in this situtation, as not having a period for 22 years, 3 years ago I had a mass in my kidney and they removed 1/4 (cancer) and I have been doing great they did it laproscopic,  I sometimes have a little pain down by my ovaries, he said they looked fine, I guess they can't always see under the uturine wall, before my kidney surgery I did have a fybroid burst and it was not invasive so the Dr cleaned me up inside and have been fine, he feels with my history, me being nervous about this he wants to to a complete (Hys) I hear some of the gals talk about estrogen patches afterwards, I can't have anything with estrogen, hope I won't be in the looney bin, as my ovaries only are producing a mute amount, also my Dr. is doing this with the Robotiac laproscopy, so I would like some input on some of my questions, will appreciate any information you can give me, thanks don't want to keep dwelling on this.

Thanks you so much for all you reassurance your a love, I had my surgery on Thursday, love my Dr. the anthelogist, was great and gave my everything but the kitchen sink so I wouldnt' be sick afterwards, laproscopy is the only way togo si the hystrorecmy (sp), came home yesterday, working on going to the bathroom, everything looked clean, than he called me last evening with results, I do have uturene cancer, early stage he sad "1" sending down for more testing, but thinks this surgery has taken care of it, I guess one can be nervous, after breast cancer 24 years ago 1/4 of kidney removed 4 years ago, but I'm blessed and taken care of, he did tell me he was getting a hold of my Dr. regarding my hernig surgery which was caused by a bad colenascopy, that the scar tissue is binding around the colon and intestine, but I need to heal from this than go on to the next issue in had regarding the hernia,, thanks so much for all your information, and if you have more to add, would certainly appreciate what you know, have a great Easter and bless you!

Hi,,Very sad to hear of brothers passing.

I had my gallbladder removed..the pain is on upper right quadrent..just below breast..its sharp stabbing pain...heres how you know if its gallbladder it radiates to back. Drs in my er room knew right away just by my pain description.

the Davinci robotic is best way to go...sorry but when re reading realised I did not answer one of your questions...my recover and for most is still 6 weeks however only the first week was tough actually the first 5 days...you have a lot better recovery w less scars etc...but you have still had major surgery and must rest and follow drs orders to a T.

Id be somewhat concerned about the mesh patch too, but I am inclinded to think if that was a issue,,youd have an infection/fever aswell as pain.

Prolapse is a possibilty also especially since you mention the bladder infections...your bladder could be prolapsing ( dropping lower in pelvis than should be) this can be fixed during lap surgery if its a issue.

i hope all goes well...please pm me and let me know how you are when your up to it...once home you will want to rest for a few days sleep alot ...then you need to be a good little couch potatoe.laptop is fine...magizines etc...sleeping witha pillow on belly helps and a ice pack helps much with the pain...if Dr does not reccomedn stool softner bring it up to him...you will be given narcotics,,,they are binding,,you will not want to have difficulty w constipation post hyster.

hugs, Cherie

Hi Cherie:
Thursday is my surgery for my Hysterectomy, I'm getty a little nervous, since I talked with you last had a trip to Montana for my brother's funeral, all this doesn't help, I also have been experiencing some pain in my stomach area, about 5 years ago. I had a colonscopy, well they punctured a hole in my stomach wall and had to have a hernia surgery where they inserted a mesh screen, I asked my Oby. I don't know if this is pain from that or my promblem in the female area, he just told me he would be looking with the cameras as he is doing the laprosocpy, anyway I guess I feeling pain in all that area, thanks for your answers, I'm also thinking gallblader , if you can have some answers, would apprecite your infor, thanks Cherie!

Gppd news....Beign means negative for cancer. Malignant is the term drs use for cancer.

By the way your past menopause so dr would not give estrogen, so no worries, if you feel too many hit flashes ask dr about Black Kosch is a herbal, must speak w dr first.

A fibroid is a oblong growth, that is sometimes just in uterus, or often penetrates uterus to bladder or rectum,,,,its almost always not cancer.

Vaginal ultra sounds are not the best tests in my opinion,,,the one I had couldnot even find my ovaries back when I had them.!

Have you asked dr for a diagnostic lap? it will let him see right into whole pelvic cavity.
Has your dr said hysterectomy is needed..a elbation can often fix fibroids

hugs
Cherie

ps when you research you can find evidence to support or not support about anything...might be a good idea to stay here...there are many forums, some just for fun! Like MH social

Hi:Cherie:
Thanks so much for your answer, since I wrote this I had to go back to the Dr. maybe thought I also had a bladder infection, he did think I had a urination track infection, so he gave me some dioxpicllin (sp) thought it had subsided some and then I started spotting a light pink this morning, If everything showed up beign, what is this? a fybroid tumer or something is coming from somewhere, hoping the hysterectomy will find out, how long were you down with the laproscopy? I appreciation, going to my grandaughter birthday this weekend, hope something doesn't pop while I'm on the road, chat with you soon, thanks for your time!

I think you are right ,,the blood is likely from the trauma of all the invasive tests.
When blood starts out red, turns brown then lighter..it usually means its fresh blood turning to old blood(brown) most likely you have soe small amt of trapped blood just working its way out.

Do remember we are not Drs..if you develop a fever, notice a odor, pain is increased. get to er or if dr can see you immediatley see him

I am very glad your getting a lap surgery..beats that old 8 inch scar!

hugs
