Just want some real information

I will accept PMs or whatever.

I am still looking for more information about sex after hysterectomy. I know that this may not be all that important to the women but it is rather to the husbands. I have no intention of abandoning my wife over no sex but I have to better understand what is going on. She has refused to get hormone levels tested (also it was not suggested, HRT is not all that big in Japan outside of Tokyo or Osaka) I know sex for women is not like a light switch.

I also do not want to get flamed and abused for asking simple questions. I have been all over the net looking for information, a lot of it not all that good and a lot of the better groups are "WOMEN ONLY" so that really leaves husbands out in the cold ... twice. I would really like to be able to discuss this.

Hi and welcome...your question is a good one. the answer is it varies so very much.

Here is my thoughts it could be two things bothering your wife.
the first is emotional,,many women feel that when their female organs are removed this makes them less of a woman, its sure not true, but for many it is difficult to not feel that way. Especially if they had desired another child or never had a child.

After a hysterectomy as you know the hormones do change...womens desires can decrease and there are some unpleasant side effects like hot flashes and night sweats,,,,the good news is this can be helped..Yes hrt is very contraversial. A heart dr will say it is bad a bone dr will say it is good...if hormones are not working for her or difficult to get there is an herbal product called Black Kosch ..it helps many with the unpleasant side effects..which if she is not feeling so miserable she may be more desiring of sex. You should ask Drs opinion of herbals before taking.

I think its very good of you to seek help for her and yourself it shows great love and understanding..As the poster above says women are frightened the first time after a hyster (I was) we are scared it will hurt..be very gentle and slow,,perhaps do not insert all the way..also lubrication decreases after a hysterectomy so some lubricating gel helps....she probably will not enjoy sex untill she has it a few times and realises it does not hurt...it is still very possible for a woman to climax but it is not as intense.

If you have any more questions that I did not cover or if you would prefer to speak in private your more than welcome to PM me.

Cherie
