Metal Staples left inside of me after I had my right ovary removed

I had my right ovary removed a couple of years ago due to severely painful chronic ovarian cysts. The surgery seemed to go fine, according to my Doctor at the time, but after I recovered from the surgery I was still in a lot of pain.  Throughout my history of these cysts, the only thing my Dr wanted to do was give me Percocet and send me home.  After I was supposed to be "healed" from my surgery but I was still in tremendous amounts of pain my Doctor didn't seem to care about finding out why I was in pain and he just wanted to send me to pain management.  At the time I didn't accept this as an option because I wanted to know why I was in pain, not just cover it up with narcotic pain killers. So instead I decided to find another Doctor and he did an exploratory surgery and ended up finding out that this previous Doctor had left HUNDREDS OF METAL STAPLES inside of me! I was horrified to say the least.  During the exploratory surgery he tried to remove as many as he could but because Im anemic I was bleeding very heavily and he could not continue. So here I am, short an ovary but filled with hundreds of metal staples and my pain has gotten worse since then. Its to the point that I can barely function on a daily basis to take care of myself, let alone my family (I have two young children and a husband). The doctor I am working with now at least wants to help me figure this out but I struggle with my pain everyday of my life and the only thing that helps with the pain unfortunately is painkillers (usually a high dose of Percocet). Has anyone else had any experience with this? Im working on getting a lawyer because from what other doctors say, this does not seem normal. Please help, any feed back would be appreciated. I feel so alone in this and Im tired of doctors and nurses thinking all I want is painkillers.  All I want is to not be in pain (or at least manageable) and to NOT be on the painkillers anymore.  Thank you for taking the time to read this : )

I am sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope you can get this resolved, medically but also legally.

See a lawyer, and find a doctor who will remove the staples.
