I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I am wondering if the pain might be due to scar tissue that has been forming and/or adhesions. As much as I have studied this stuff since mine were found in 2001, I am not quite sure what the difference between the two is or if there is a difference!
Do just one more bit of research and if you don't mind sifting through my posts look for anything related to "bodyrolling" or body rolling or Adhesions. Click on my profile and you will see the place to click for old posts. I have almost 600 of them, but if you go back just even a few weeks, I know that I just recently posted a ton of info.
Please let me know if you find it or if you cannot find it and I will be happy to find it for you. This is a huge topic of interest to me and I suffered greatly as you will see when you find my posts....and my docs were baffled too. It was my exercise teacher who gave me relief by teaching me a special massge. Even my doctor wanted to hear about it. It cost me nothing more than the cost of a little ball from Target that I picked up in the toy section.
Just make sure it is okay for you to try this very deep massage before you do it. I know that just after surgery would not be a good time and in my case it was a year and a half after my surgery. I put up with a ton of pain until I got relief from this little ball. I am STILL amazed...no kidding. I had NO IDEA that these little buggers could cause so much pain.
Make sure you read the update section on my adhesion post. I had a lap last Spring looking for problems (but it was a ruptured disc all along...grrr) but the doc who did the surgery was absolutely stunned that I had NO adhesions when he went in there...and, believe me...I'd had them before years ago.
If you get a chance, put your name in blue (go to edit profile or maybe set up profile and even if you just say that you are female and/or your age, you will get a profile. It is nice to have one for messages and such.
Let me know how it goes. I hope you get relief soon. I knew nothing of adhesions until I got into all of the pain that was indeed similar to what I had felt like before my hysterectomy in 2000...
Good luck,
Mary
Thanks very much for the replies, I am sure the pain that I am having is not related to my surgery. All of the pains I am having now are the same exact I had prior to the hysterectomy.
As I'm sure anyone can imagine this is very frustrating for me. I've googled, Yahoo Search, WebMd'd my symptoms dozens of times and get nothing other than what I already know I dont have.
Any other input would be appreciated.
Hi. I don't have any specific info on your symptoms but I had grinding aching pain in my back and abdomen like I was always going to start my period after the hysterectomy. But, they took my cervix too and left my ovaries. Seems I had what they call an enterocele and rectocele. It is something that can occur after removal of the uterus and I didn't know this. My dr. didn't make me aware. I guess it doesn't happen to every woman, but it did me. It is bulging of the bowel and rectum into the vaginal wall and nearly coming out. You may not have this since you kept the cervix. But you can definitely see it on me, I suppose since I don't have cervix. It nearly bulged the vaginal wall outside my body it was so bad. supposedly, the falling of your other organs like the bowel, etc after removal of the uterus can cause lower back pain and some other pains. Not sure if this is what you have, but it may be worth just asking about. Like I said, I don't know if it can even occur if you kept the cervix, but it was just a thought I wanted to offer. I had mine "repaired" 5 weeks ago. Major surgery, worse recovery pain and time than the hysterectomy was and now it has come back. I almost wish i had never had the hysterectomy to begin with honestly. I hope you do well with it and don't have any other problems. Good luck dear.
I hate to hear that, I know you said you had researched it but Did you go to WebMD and put your symptoms in the symptoms checker? It gives you different choices and then you decide what to put in and what it could be, It has helped me many times...it was just a thought and Good Luck!!
