Post complete abdominal hysterectomy pain

I am 3 wks post-op complete abdominal hysterectomy related to severe endometriosis. I was doing well able to perform light housework, grocery shop with assistance with lifting and standing up straight. Now I have severe abdominal pain approximately 2 inches above my incision site when walking. At times I can not even get my clothes down out of the closet and have severe pain when using the bathroom. I have seen a doctor twice already this week. The first one stated he did not know where it was coming from and to rest. The second one stated that it was "nerves growing back' and to simply deal with it. When I said I can't do anything anymore, he stated "well you walked in here so you did something." I am suppose to go back yet again tomorrow because the 2nd doctor didn't feel as thought he should give pain meds to me and to see the 1st doctor. I am 28 yrs old with 3 children and just feel so lost due to this. If anyone has ever heard of this or know someone who has gone through this PLEASE let me know. I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you for taking the time to read this

Hello there - I caught sight of your question when I was looking on the site for some answers to the problem I currently have.  I hope you are doing better now and would really appreciate knowing how you are now and whether your problems sorted themselves out afterwards.  I can see your post was mid November and wonder how you are now, two months on.

I am almost 6 weeks post op (removal of everything!) and was doing so well but suddenly this week have pain which seems to be getting worse without any good reason.  I did have a bit of a stumble the day before the pain started but was fine after it and don't know whether it's connected or not.  I'm reluctant to go to the docs as I don't want to end up feeling the same way as you did when you got no-where with your two appointments with yours.

The pain I have now is like that of 2 weeks post op and I feel I've gone backwards if anything, which is frustrating as I felt I was recovering so well and was starting to get back into work very slowly but now am on hold again.

Hope you are doing well and would like to know how long your problems lasted and what it was.
Regards
Hellen

My suture site is not showing any signs or symptoms of infection (no redness, swelling or increased temp.) So they don't think it is that. I feel good as long as I don't walk or stand and sometimes it's hard to (excuse me for being so frank) to wipe myself after urinating because of the pain. It's really weird and I can't find a single thing on the internet that explains or even mentions anyone else suffering from this. The bad thing is that the second doctor stated "you can do things you're just going to be in severe pain" like this should be how I have to live my life. I truly don't know what else to do. Thank you soo much for replying. It really helps to have someone to talk to.

Yes it was a complete hysterectomy with bilateral oophrectomy (removal of both ovaries). My regular gyno who performed the surgery did a urinalysis but found nothing. He is also the one that stated "i don't know what it is' and "I'll see you in a couple of weeks." I am suppose to see him yet again tomorrow and I'm just going to tell him he can either find a cause/cure or send me to someone who will. I don't know what else to do. It's almost like they look at my age and just assume the pain i am feeling is not real.

I really feel you need to ask the doctor about possible infection at the suture site.  I had an endometrial ablation and had a terrible, painful uterine infection, which required antibiotics to clear up.  Please go to an ER if these doctors are not helping.  "Nerves growing back," indeed!  he should be ashamed.

I had the same problem. First of all was it a complete? If so you are suppose to be off your feet as much as possible for 6 weeks. I did not listen and after 3 felt much better, I too started light duty but ended up having to stay off my feet for 8 weeks total b/c I was not healing internally, I also got a severe urinary tract infection. That was the source of most of my pain. Have them check it out.
