Still pain after Hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy done in 2004 because of Endometriosis and they left one ovary in and I was wanting to know,  Is it possible that the endometriosis could come back into my one ovary?  I still have severe stomach and plevis pain at times with some Sharp shooting pains in the Pelvic area....Anyone have any info that might help me?  Please.......

From what I understand about endo. is that leaving even one ovary can leave the endo enough estrogen to grow. So it is possible to still have endo, or for it to reoccur even if you only have one ovary.

I agree with gma718, I too had a my hysterectomy in july of 07. They took everything. I too was told that leaving my ovaries would also put me at risk for more sugery in the future. I did not fell that it was the risk.

I had a hysterectomy done in may 2007..they took everything but a piece of my cervix..all my insides and ovaries were destroyed by years of endo. I was told that if I left any ovaries (even though they were unrecognizable and crushed) that there would be a good chance I would be back in surgery eventually. I also had 2 ivarian cysts that were causing me alot of pain and uncomfortableness. i would schedule an ultrasound asap and see what is going on..Good luck :) Gia
