Pain after hysterectomy so bad

I'm 38 and I had a TAH/BSO on 2/27/09. I had adenomyosis and endometriosis. I can't understand why I'm still having lower back pain soooo bad it's in my tail bone area and it just spreads around. I still have my good days and bad days yet from the surgery but the back pain just wont let up. I walk every day. I fight the pain all day and when I go to bed It wakes me up in pain.I cant even sit in a chair to long. I had terrible debilitating pain before surgery. Has anyone had this problem before after surgery?

heat for pain is good aslong as it is not directly following a surgical procedure..if you are bleeding heavy do keep in mind heat increases blood flow...I know this sounds hard to believe but sometimes a cold ice pack also brings relief from uterine pain,,,,and if your bleeding heavy it can help decrease it..( the heavy bleeding)

I am waiting to see my gyn since he's at a major Hospital and I am going to talk to him about getting a referral to a neurologist. Thank you! I just didnt know where to go next. In the mean time I'm using the heating pad.

My biopsy came back adenomyosis and endometriosis. Everything else was ok. I have had MRI's ,x-rays and so much more before my hysterectomy.

Hi I had a very very similar problem I also had the same diagnosis as you so we have alot in common I had endo followed by andenomyosis..got a hyster ( uterus and cervix only 0 had a bso 1 yr later..anyways..it was after my BSO tha I suffered excruciating back pain..it only lasted a month i told my surgeon he suggested it was likely from the way I was placed during surgery which in my case took 2  1/2 times longer than normal as my ovary was addheared to the bowel .
I also have trauma induced arthritis from an accident it effect my spine and neck.

No matter the cause be it from surgery or not you need a diagnosis and solution there is no need to suffer help is out there,,,I would suggest you bypass your gyno in this case go to your family dr..now he may refer you right back to the gyno  you may have some issue he could resolve such as surgical scarring or addhesions..but I dont think so,,,,just a huntch sounds like something you may need a neurologist to dx the fact that the pain radiates leads me to think that...

Since you did not mention I am assuming all pathology from your hysterectomy came back negative correct?

Only other slight possibility is bone damage I doubt it but am pretty sure you will be x=rayed to rule that out,,,,hope you feel better soon    go =====seek help....
