pain in lower left flank and ovary area

Hello everyone, 2004 a OBGYN did a partial hysterectomy due to continious pain during menstrating, due to endo. 30-45 min lavh took 5 hours due to endo and scar tissue, always had pain on the right side. Now since then for 2 yrs i had right side pain, NO PERIOD. After many times of complaining they found a hemm. ovarian cyst and removed it and removed more scar tissue in March through my old c-section.

NOw for over 1 yr i have had the worst pain in my life, where i black out, pass out for hours from pain i cant even explain. The pain is in my lover left side near where my left ovary would be. I found that this occurs the same time every month and the pain last between 8-48 hrs, now as time has gone on i have had several pelvic exams, CT MRI PET scan, Nothing has been found but the pain has gotten worse the worst month for me was in march the night before Easter the pain started in the am and by 11pm that night i finally could no longer bare the pain, past out and was carried to the ER and was there for 12 hrs for them to tell me all i had was a 3cm cyst that is NORMAL. The strongest pain med did not even touch the pain, and was geiven to me every 2-4 hours. The ER Dr never did a pelvic exam order another  CT scan, and pushed just to the left of my belly button and the pain grew more intense, and i passed out AGAIN. Blood work was good although white cell was up. Gave me antibiotics and sent me home, pain of course went away as it always does, but inside my belly button was very tender just to a tender finger tip touch.

Every month the pain gets far worse, I only have my cervix and left ovary left. I know that a 3cm cyst could not possibly create this much pain, after all i went through for 10 yrs of my right ovary before it was remove. Im 33 and i cant even explain the pain. It starts where my left ovary is, the that side of my bladder will be so painful when i empty my bladder during this time, i have scraped the paint of my walls in pain...NEVER HAD A UTI OR BLADDER INFECTION checked every time COME OUT PERFECT PER DR's IT even hurts to have a BM!!!! The pain was bearable for a few months but after time it has become so bad that i cry when i look at the calendar. I have been fired from three jobs in less than a year from this. Last job two recents jobs fired me and told me because of my medical problem!!!! PLease some one with any insight tell me what this could be the 18th is creepin up and i dont think i could do this again!!!! I was given bactrim antibiotic and donnatel for cramps. During the next month i broke a tooth and was given a high dose of penicillin and the pain did not occur April or May. June i thought i was going to die, and this time the pain lasted over 7 days, and i just lost my job and health insurance. Its not a UTI, BLADDER INFECTION bowels an colon Perfect. This is taken a toll on my family and henders my life to the point i do not want that time of the month to come. I do not have periods due to the hysterectomy, so i know it has to due with ovulation, but why so much pain?I cant even walk, im feeling the pain come on now as we grow closer....pain on left lower stomche and flank area that radiates to the left side of my back into my groined area with major  pain on a scale 10/10 its a 20!!! last month i past out and my husband found me 3 hours later out on my front lawn!!!! I do not want to go throught this. Please HELP!!!!! I have a high tolerance for pain...so for me to complain and even go to the ER and TAKE pain MEDS....there is something wrong and no one seems to know the answer....SOME ONE HELPPPPP

Sincerely,
Hoplessley in pain

I don't have endo so can't answer that.  I'd lke to suggest you place a posting on the Ovarian cysts forum and I'm sure someone will be able to answer you.

I have tried Birth Control and can not take for it raises my blood pressure to high. I also i have tried other meds to take to shut my hormones down, and it throws me off track, and does not work. The cyst never goes away in the last 12 months ive had 6 CT, 3 MRI's and 10 Ultra sounds everyway they can do them, and i had to be carried to the ER 6 times due to the pain level. Well since i have lost my job just recent for my illness i no longer have insurance, so gettin a DR to suegery is not a option at this point. I have done everything from chiroprator, massage therapy, yoga..everything natural and nothing has eased this up.

My pain starts in my lower left side it even is so pain around my c-section insision i cant even touch it. Then it radiates to my flank, and then i get this God aweful stomache ache like someone hit me in my gut from the pain. This pain is no pain ive ever felt in my life, and ive had what i though t was the most painful surgery ever...a UPPP and tonsil removal, and then 10 dayslater started to hemmerage, and had to redue my surgery. This pain does not even compare that was a piece of cake. At first the pain was simple enough where i could bare the pain for 8-12 hrs now the pain has gotten more aggressive and last alot longer. I cant even explain the pain last time was in my belly button and was so painful i would pass out every time someone touched my stomache. Mind you this pain is only on my left side to left of my belly button and to my flank and around to my left kidney area. I am lost for words to explain the pain, all i can say it that i have had four pelvic surgerys in my old c-section scar and a abcest tooth that i broke from clenching from pain, and i did this all with out pain meds!!! I have a high tolerance for pain, but this pain is something i never ever felt before even when i had my right ovary, it was never this painful!!!!!! I am lost to as what it could be, i dont know much about endo, so all i can think that it is endo around that area and creatine this pain. Look im sorry for the length of this but i am trying to explain the pain, honestly it is a pain i never felt before, and is so painful ive had a siezure from it, my body could no longer take the pain. Does a cyst on the ovary create this much pain if there is endo there?

Oh you poor thing - that is an awful lot of pain.  I have heard that the size of your cyst is not an indicator of pain - some small ones can be extraordinarily painful and some people have large ones with no symptoms.  I also don't know much about PCOS but there is a forum on MedHelp for that and they might have some advice.  Have you gone back to your gyn?  Have they tried putting you on birth control pills?  This has gone on too long - perhaps you should be demanding a laporascopic removal of your other ovary so you are done with the pain.  Good luck and please keep us posted.
