partial hysterectomy

i just recently within the past week had a partial hysterectomy with one ovary and uterus remove. I am having hot flashes and chills along with night sweats. Does this mean I may need a little hrt

I had a partial hyst in May as well. Still have both ovaires. I seem to have some hot flashes as well. It isn't as bad now. Surgery is a major insult on your body.I have read some websites that hormones can fluctuate from it but should smooth out.

I am assuming you still have the other ovary.  When one ovary is removed it can take a few months for the other one to kick in and take over and you can suffer from menopausal symptoms until that happens.  If you can live throught it that is best. You might even look at the health store to see if there are some herbal preparations that can help.
