prolapsed uterus

Hi there
my friend is about 4 months pregnant and has a prolapsed uterus. She has been told that she will need a hysterectomy after the baby is born. Does anyone know if  it is possible for her to have a c-section and a hysterectomy at the same time. She does not see her doc for a few more weeks and we are curious if anyone has had this done because she would prefer to get it all over with at the same time.
Thanks

Please do something about this whole story sounds so wrong her dr may be leading her down a very dangerous wrong road...I dont know her diagnoisi...the only thing that would make sense would be if she found out she had uterine cancer mid pregnancy wants to carry child to term then they do the hyster...nothing else seems right.

Not sure why she needs the hysterectomy. Her doc told her that she would have to have one shortly after giving birth. She doesn't need a C-section she just wanted to know if they could do it that way instead rather then going through the recover of giving birth and then having surgery. I am not too sure I would go that way myself but I will def suggest to her that she should see a different doc or 2 and see what they say.

Why on earth does she seem to think she needs a hysterectomy? I had a prolapsed uterus and gave birth to three healthy boys all a prolapse means is the uterus leans in the backwards position, techincally suposed to make it harder to concieve but not so with many many I know...why does she need a C section..all my babies wher vaginal births, just trying to understand...the C section may be needed for a host of reasons..I would get atleast 3 opinions before Id let someone take my uterus for such a reason sounds presposterous.

Yes, it is possible.  No I didn't have it done personally, but my neice did with her last child.

I had my hystectomy done after 11 miscarriages.  So I never was able to bring a child into this world, but that didn't stop the Lord from finally blessing me with a child of my own to raise.

I'll lift your friend up in prayers.
