Confusion

Hi there,

I am a male in my mid 20s from India. So the deal is, that I got a three dose course of anti-rabies vaccine more than a year ago (Aug 2011), on 0, 3 and 7 days. Now suddenly for some weird reason I am a little confused about that date on which the 3rd vaccine was given and I am confused whether it was a day earlier or late or exactly on day seven (which is the most probable case i.e the exact 7th day counting from 0). Would that be a problem? Or should I just carry on with my life normally. I should make it clear that my exposure was minor and I was vaccinated only for precaution. I am perfectly fine otherwise, no medical problems or conditions.

Would be extremely grateful if any response could help me calm my anxiety down. Thanks and Regards.

I mean if it might have any risk in terms of side effects in itself (though I have experienced none in the past 13 months). (Is this like, pure anxiety??...its bugging me)

Hey!

Thank you so much for your response buddy.

Could you kindly help me with my exact question, which pertains to my confusion regarding the dates of the vaccination and if any concern that it might entail.

Thank you so much again for your response.

Hello there!

If you were exposed to rabies a year ago (and then had the shots as a cautionary course) then you have nothing to worry about. Rabies runs it's course in a relatively short period of time and it's symptoms are undeniable. Rabies isn't like other virus's - it doesn't sit dormant in the body, no one is a carrier of rabies - it kills, that's it. The fact that you got vaccinated and it is over a year later declares that the shots worked or you never contracted the illness in the first place, which is just fine! Wishing you the best, take care!
