Hey Corie - yup, no doctors in sight about this. It's amazing that there has not been more response - but I guess in many ways you are right - they don't know what to do.

Glad you checked in here - thanks for your supportive words.

Hellaversary. Nice one :)

Take care and hope all is well with you and your loved ones.

Hi Gen - you definitnely did divert me and I really appreciate it so much. Yesterday was such a tough day for me. I really can't believe it actually. I remember a few folks writing in distress re: relapes even at 6 months, so I guess I should not be surprised by this. I just felt totally sabotaged and physically horrible - I know so many understand that.

Thanks for writing - I have been so happy to see you back here. I can't believe your mention of a ceiling fan - I thought I was the ONLY one who had issues like this - it just makes me feel...better (somehow) if I know I am not alone. Yes, I definitely avoid those type of visual disturbances if I can...

I think you are right re: work. I am hoping to be able to persevere. I work in Marketing as a project mananger, so for the most part it is a desk job. I am really hoping that I can swing it. Just a big and intense week last week, I am hoping. Back at it tomorrow and then the weekend.

Will write back and please stay in touch!

Thanks for the eye info.  Sometimes it comes from a source you were not expecting.  I just wondered if your exam actually revealed any clinical signs of dryness.  You may not want to say and I understand that.  My understanding is that as long as the gland is still intact, tears can be stimulated.  You said at one time you live in a dry climate which may make your symptoms more pronounced.  We are all victims to our environment like it or not.  I've been in the path of a ceiling fan on occasion in a public place and had to change seats because of its affect on my eyes.  And there are many other environmental pollutants that can affect us all.  Treatment would likely be symptomatic (like with artificial tears) unless the situation is moderate to severe  And your doctor probably discussed that.  Dry eye is not that uncommon a problem..  Glad to hear it is probably temporary for you.  And as we age, "maturity" can bring on many things for sure.

Cathy - Sorry to hear about your setback yesterday  The thoughts of going back to the hospital are not casual ones..  I thought we could have a little diversion talking about the earthquake.  But you had other issues that dominated your thoughts.  I'm glad to hear you say that you will stay on track.  I don't know what type of work you do and it really isn't my concern.  Only to say that if what you do involves more brain power than physical activity, it should be a good thing for you to keep your mind busy.  It is also helpful to have "purpose" and feel needed.

Greetings,
I agree with y'all, such a relief to know others are experiencing similar symptoms. I'm sorry you're all going through this, but it comforting that we're not individually alone. Thank you so much for commenting on the sudden ear blockage, it made me feel a lot better! I have (what I hope is) an interesting story. I went to the optometrist for a yearly eye check up. I had a seasonal flu shot October 6, arm nervy symptoms began 5 days later, and major body tingling began late October. In early January (~2 months later), I developed "dry eye", major eye socket pain. I've commented earlier that it was interesting that others complained of eye pain and floaties (another dry eye symptom). I commented to the optometrist about the coincidence of the autoimmune response to the vaccine and the development of dry eye (no previous eye problems). He said that many doctors have noted a connection and studies were done years ago connecting autoimmune reactions that affected peripheral nerves and "dry eye". He said that when nerves are damaged it can include the nerves that feed the bla-bla-bla gland in the eye-brow area. This gland produces tears. If nerves are damaged and these particular nerves are affected, tear production declines and may lead to dry eye. He said he isn't positive that this happened to me, but he'd put his certainty at 70%. He has heard that this sort of eye damage can take 3-5 years to heal, but then, when the eyes/nerves heal, I'll be older and may experience a standard tear production decline associated with "maturity" (as he calls it).
I thought this was rather interesting. Another gruesome side effect, but at least, hopefully, there's a chance that it'll get better and is not necessarily due to long-term bodily decline.
Think positive everyone! Enjoy the summer, don't think too hard, and keep yourselves busy!

Hi Gen - what a day - the earth shook in Montreal in a similar way - and lasted for quite some time - definintely felt it. I am on the thrid floor of an apartment complex and the building was swaying!

Thanks everyone for the support, I really appreciate it. Had one of the worst nights and days that I have had since I was first sick - I almost considered going back to the hospital. My whole body was tingling and buzzing and vibrating and I was sick and made many trips to the bathroom - now my core has tremors and it is like a freight train running through my chest that goes down my legs and arms. I cried all morning and was bed ridden. It was also my daughter's prom night. I couldn't go to get her make up done with her, but managed to take some meds, pull it together and go to a cocktail party and then downtown to the hotel. I am so proud of myself. I can't believe this day and how it started. However it ended well :)

Thanks everyone for you words of support regarding work - it was such a bad day it just makes everything seem impossible. But I am going to stay on course, steady as she goes. Had a bad storm, but still on course. I pray I can do this. I want to do this job.

Jackie - I totally agree with you and feel exactly the same way - hope you feel better.

Nice to hear from everyone - I will write again soon.

Hey Cathy,  Where were you when the earth started shaking?  I was sitting in my kitchen doing paperwork when the whole house started moving including the chair I was sitting on.  Then there was a momentary pause before another good jolt.  I could hear my glassware and china clinking in the dining room cabinet.  It all ended well but did catch my attention.  It was a major news story of course.  We are about 250 miles from the epicenter.  Not our first quake here in western New York but they are an infrequent happening.  Hope you are well.
