Shots?

Is anyone else worried about shots? I've been researching and it all seems like a big money maker for pharmaceutical companies and hospitals, and not necessarily whats truly best for our babies. Have you read about the compounds in these shots? I would like to hear some opinions...?

I don't read a blog to make informed decisions about vaccines. Actually the FDA and CDC websites have some studies posted but not enough. As well as the vaccone ingredients and side affects and trends. Most ofcourse don't go to these sites and read them they just trust the media and their doctors who scare them into doing anything. Also other countries scientist do studies as well and sometimes seem to be more honest than the US when releasing these studies. I have been vaccinated and my child will be vaccinated. But atleast I inform myself and don't just read the pamphlet at the doctors and go around bashing other parents. I will choose which vaccines my child will get and when. The vaccines are not the same as when I was a child. And the whooping cough scare really gets me upset.  The doctors are nit telling you everything. 80% of the outbreaks layely have been in people that are completely vaccinated. There are actually more than one strain of pertussis yet only a vaccine for one of them. When someone gets sick they are not testing which strain your infected with, it might be the one your nit even vaccinated for. And yes there is a study done that the pertussis vaccine can be spread through the vaccinated for up to 6 weeks after being vaccinated. So stop blaming the unvaccinated for getting the vaccinated sick if you believe your vaccination works so well. And for newborns that are not yet vaccinated I am scared their recently vaccinated parents due to the push for the cocooning effect are in fact probably infecting their newborn. Its a lot easier to listen to the media than do your own research. I used to be that way but have finally opened my eyes and thought I can think for myself.

It is true that teens and adults are getting illness after they were vaccinated as kids...many vaccines wear off after 10-15 years. Adults didn't used to need to get the boosters, since the viruses had nearly died out. But now, thanks to people like you, they have made a come back. First thing my OB?GYN asked me is if my husband and I are up to date on our vaccines!
I had to show proof of my MMR vaccine before I enrolled in grad schol, this was in Oregon were there is a huge problem with anti-vaxxers.

I do know first hand what a school with mostly unvaccinated children is like. I went to Waldorf School, it is very alternative. When I was in 7th grade, the first grade was cancelled for a month since all the kids had Whooping Cough. Thankful I had reasonable parents who vaccinated me!
This was 20 years ago- the problem has only gotten worse.
I have always kept up with my TDAP vaccine since I'm an artist and am around rusty metal, but now I know heathy adults who have gotten Whopping Cough, it is horrible - 6 moths months of rip cracking coughs

I had two babies and one on the way they both had ALL of their shots and they turned out just fine.... they need the shots if your willing to risk your child bc of your selfish scares and that's sad.

CountryMomToBe I completely agree with talking to a pediatrician! Our DRs here too are very pro vaccine but do not give antibiotics unless necessary.,however if you choose to split they will assist you with a schedule that works for you as long as vaccines are started by 4,months of age. (For example kids don't get sinus infections normally, they also don't get bronchitis, and ear pain doesn't mean infection...all of these things too many people get medication for when its not needed)

The only vaccine I have a problem with is varicella.  My husband & I will vaccinate though.  He & I did not get the TDaP yet (I react soooo poorly to many many medications I did not want to risk it in pregnancy)... But we will both be getting it as soon as this baby is out. Have you had consultations with pediatricians yet? Do it.  Meet pediatricians & find out their views & opinions on it.  The one I chose is all about herbal, homeopathic remedies versus prescriptions/antibiotics/OTC meds when it comes to everyday situations but believes strongly in vaccinating.

Me and my husband decided to wait till our son gets older to get his shots....  One reason being because he had a brother pass away the same day after getting shots at 5mths.. Don't want to take a chance.
