Shots?

Is anyone else worried about shots? I've been researching and it all seems like a big money maker for pharmaceutical companies and hospitals, and not necessarily whats truly best for our babies. Have you read about the compounds in these shots? I would like to hear some opinions...?

I know that since ppl been thinking vaccines ate causing autism or whatever else that a lot of diseases have been coming back due to ppl not getting shots.

All I will say is that in Wales, UK where I am from last year there was a huge measles outbreak and some young children and babies died as a result of this horrible and completely preventable disease. And I bet the parents felt awful for not vaccinating their precious children. I know that I would never forgive myself. I will definitely be vaccinating by baby girl against everything. Is it honestly worth the risk?

I was also on the fence about this, but after doing research I've decied that no I am not vaccinating my baby at all. Most of the people contracticting these diseases ARE people that are vaccinated. The ingredients in vaccines are ridiculous and the side effects are even worse. Babies immune systems are immature, so I definitely wouldn't be putting mercurcy, aborted fetal cells, and certain ingredients used in embalming fluid, among other toxic ingredients into my baby. If a baby is breast fed, he or she will get all of the protection that they need from their mother's milk.

I'm in the UK also and I got my first daughter vaccinated with all the shots she was meant to get I would not risk my daughters health and not get those shots that are reccomended. Those shots are there to prevent illnesses and diseases from a young age all the way through.

Were you vaccinated? If you were you turned out ok. The concoctions are put together by trained professionals in doses that are not meant to harm us. The reason not alot of people get diseases are because we are vaccinated. The diseases are still around. Good luck in your choice, i hope it works out as the best one for your baby.

That choice is yours, I just encourage you to read the information with caution. Many studies found on the internet about shots being harmful have been proven several times over to be incorrect. Mercury is no longer in shots and studies from proven sources have shown that those who aren't vaccinated are the leading cause in spreading the preventable diseases, especially since there is a large population of people who are immune compromised that are unable to get the shots. When those people come into contact with your unvaccinated child, they are at a higher risk. So again I caution you to read those studies carefully and follow articles back to the source checking the reputation. I plan to vaccinate my child,, the choice I am debating is if I will spread the shots out and not do two or three is a day, but do them a day or so apart so not to overload the system.

In the U.S. if you're child is not up to date on their vaccinations he or she can not be enrolled in public school or day care. A parent not vaccinating their child, i believe,  Is putting children who are too young for the vaccinations at risk. Those diseases are still out there,  and these shots are to prevent people from contracting these diseases.

Correction: children who are not vaccinated may only be enrolled into public schools if it is against the families religion.

I vaccinated my son and he is perfectly fine. No health issues and super smart. I will definitely vaccinate this time around as well. The chemicals in these vaccinations are so small that they won't harm your little one. It is scary but I am more afraid of my little ones catching something so preventable. These diseases are life threatening versus a chemical that won't effect your child's health. Read science journals and not internet sites. Your doctor won't tell you to do anything that would put your baby's health at risk. They want to keep their jobs.

I actually own a daycare you cant stop a child from coming to school or daycare without their shots. It does not only have to be because of religion anymore. I make sure my children have their shots to protect them. Parents who do not its their choice however I dont think these parents realize the risk they are taking. Those are the children who are not protected and will get very sick and could face death. These shots were created to protect us since people have decided that they are not good for theirchildren we are seeing illnesses come back in outbreaks.

I am a pediatric nurse and strongly believe in vaccination... The risk of aide effects is so minimal its not worth risking your child's life. Many people don't understand but the diseases your child can be vaccinated against are the cause of hundreds ofthousands of deaths in countries that don't have vaccines available to them. I encourage every mother to YouTube a video of a baby with pertussis (a disease thays becoming more and more prevalent thanka to the antivax movement) and ask yourself if you'd be willing to risk your child's health and possibly even their life just to avoid the 0.01% chance that something may happen from the vaccine.

Also if you do choose to vaccinate, "splitting" the shots doesn't do them any good. The hit to the immune system by getting all the vaccines at one time is what helps build stronger immunity. Many people think it's "overloading" their system but that is an incorrect statement. The more their immune system needs to work to build antibodies, the more they will develop. Also it is far more traumatic to the child to come even more frequently for vaccine visits.

ihowell26 in the US mercury (thimerosol) is not longer used as a preservative in pediatric (or almost any) vaccines and hasn't been for about the past 20 years. Aborted fetal cells are not used in ANY vaccines for any reason and that story had since been reported as false. Aluminum is a common vaccine adjuvent, it is considered safe and the amount contained in vaccines is 200 times LESS than the amount that's it your deodorant that you wear daily and that your baby has been exposed to every day of your pregnancy.

Whatever blogs and internet sites people have "researched", are not made by actual scientists. There is absolutely no proof vaccines are harmful to your child and it's beyond negligent as a parent to choose not to vaccine your child due to some poorly worded "research paper" that someone read on a blog.

If you want to do what is right for your child, read actual scientific journals and actual papers and documents written by scientists and speak to your doctor who wants the best for your baby.

The vaccine "industry" is not the same as the money making pharmaceutical industry.

Please please please ladies, vaccinate your children.

Me and my husband decided to wait till our son gets older to get his shots....  One reason being because he had a brother pass away the same day after getting shots at 5mths.. Don't want to take a chance.

The only vaccine I have a problem with is varicella.  My husband & I will vaccinate though.  He & I did not get the TDaP yet (I react soooo poorly to many many medications I did not want to risk it in pregnancy)... But we will both be getting it as soon as this baby is out. Have you had consultations with pediatricians yet? Do it.  Meet pediatricians & find out their views & opinions on it.  The one I chose is all about herbal, homeopathic remedies versus prescriptions/antibiotics/OTC meds when it comes to everyday situations but believes strongly in vaccinating.

CountryMomToBe I completely agree with talking to a pediatrician! Our DRs here too are very pro vaccine but do not give antibiotics unless necessary.,however if you choose to split they will assist you with a schedule that works for you as long as vaccines are started by 4,months of age. (For example kids don't get sinus infections normally, they also don't get bronchitis, and ear pain doesn't mean infection...all of these things too many people get medication for when its not needed)

I had two babies and one on the way they both had ALL of their shots and they turned out just fine.... they need the shots if your willing to risk your child bc of your selfish scares and that's sad.

It is true that teens and adults are getting illness after they were vaccinated as kids...many vaccines wear off after 10-15 years. Adults didn't used to need to get the boosters, since the viruses had nearly died out. But now, thanks to people like you, they have made a come back. First thing my OB?GYN asked me is if my husband and I are up to date on our vaccines!
I had to show proof of my MMR vaccine before I enrolled in grad schol, this was in Oregon were there is a huge problem with anti-vaxxers.

I do know first hand what a school with mostly unvaccinated children is like. I went to Waldorf School, it is very alternative. When I was in 7th grade, the first grade was cancelled for a month since all the kids had Whooping Cough. Thankful I had reasonable parents who vaccinated me!
This was 20 years ago- the problem has only gotten worse.
I have always kept up with my TDAP vaccine since I'm an artist and am around rusty metal, but now I know heathy adults who have gotten Whopping Cough, it is horrible - 6 moths months of rip cracking coughs

I don't read a blog to make informed decisions about vaccines. Actually the FDA and CDC websites have some studies posted but not enough. As well as the vaccone ingredients and side affects and trends. Most ofcourse don't go to these sites and read them they just trust the media and their doctors who scare them into doing anything. Also other countries scientist do studies as well and sometimes seem to be more honest than the US when releasing these studies. I have been vaccinated and my child will be vaccinated. But atleast I inform myself and don't just read the pamphlet at the doctors and go around bashing other parents. I will choose which vaccines my child will get and when. The vaccines are not the same as when I was a child. And the whooping cough scare really gets me upset.  The doctors are nit telling you everything. 80% of the outbreaks layely have been in people that are completely vaccinated. There are actually more than one strain of pertussis yet only a vaccine for one of them. When someone gets sick they are not testing which strain your infected with, it might be the one your nit even vaccinated for. And yes there is a study done that the pertussis vaccine can be spread through the vaccinated for up to 6 weeks after being vaccinated. So stop blaming the unvaccinated for getting the vaccinated sick if you believe your vaccination works so well. And for newborns that are not yet vaccinated I am scared their recently vaccinated parents due to the push for the cocooning effect are in fact probably infecting their newborn. Its a lot easier to listen to the media than do your own research. I used to be that way but have finally opened my eyes and thought I can think for myself.

The only diseases that could POTENTIALLY be passed from a recently vaccinated parent to a child would be MEasles, Mumps, Rubella, or chickenpox as they are the only live vaccines and even then the chances are nearly impossible. Also if you look at the info from the measles outbreak in California of the 120 people who have the disease, almost 90 were unvaccinated. Only 2 of those were people who were two young or unsuitable for vaccination.

Knufrio. Please go to the cdc website and look for the study done on baby baboons and how the vaccinated spread the pertussis. It is a bacteria and mutates since they use the acellular vaccine now and not the whole cellular vaccine anymore due to the side effects that were occurring they changed the vaccine but they are now looking into how they can change it again because they are finding it is not effective enough but ofcourse don't say this in the media. You have to read for yourself

I'm a nurse and have read plenty on vaccines, I have the CDC guidelines memorized and I'm well aware of how diseases spread and how bacteria evolve. Yes people vaccinated against pertussis can still get pertussis, however you cannot pass pertussis to another person unless you either have the disease or are a carrier (vaccination would not cause you to be a carrier) the vaccine itself cannot cause pertussis.
