Some way to tell if your PM has been read or not.

Can you make some sort of indicator to show if someone has read your private message, or if its languishing away in their inbox, unnoticed?

Peekawho: We'll definitely consider adding a confirmation of private messages that have been read to our list of feature requests, but this feature may also upset other members, so we're not sure that we'll be able to add it.

AR-10: As much as we'd all like to send an electric shock to people over the Internet every once in a while, we think that technology is just too powerful to share with everyone. So for now, we'll be keeping that power all to ourselves. If you get zapped, you'll know why!

You're right, not everyone is an expert at navigating the site or using the features.

I probably wouldn't have butted in, but the electric keyboard idea popped into my mind, and I just HAD to post it.

I wasn't thinking of you, but there have been a few times in the past it would have been sort of handy... :o)

Believe it or not, there are people (I won't name names) who have been using this site for a little while, and they don't know about the PM system.  Or the journals.

They post, they get out.  

I'm a "like to know" kind of gal.  I don't want someone to say "Oh, I'm sorry!  I didn't read my messages".  I like to be able to say "AH HA!  You DID read it!  On such and so day"!

I kinda like it this way. Sometimes I don't want to respond right away. Human nature says if you see that person posting, they have already read their PMs.

I'd really like a feature where if someone gets nasty with you, you could zap them with an electric shock from their keyboard.
