This forum is too strict, also app update suggestions

A lot of women including myself keep getting reported for being honest and concerned and then sent emails by medhelp. I don't understand why the moderators think we should be telling people it's ok to drink and do drugs and try to kill yourself while pregnant?

I can understand not wanting people to bully each other, but getting banned or whatever just for telling someone what they are doing to their child is wrong is a little excessive. Quite frankly demanding that everyone tells each other "oh its ok to do bad stuff" is whats going to get a lot of unborn children hurt. In order to get REAL answers to their questions, people should be able to tell them the TRUTH. The truth isn't sugar coated most times.

Lots of people also get sent "violation of terms" emails because they tell someone just to "take a test" when they are wondering if they are pregnant or not. Literally that's the only way they can tell if they are pregnant. or rather the best way to find out.

As for the mobile app, few suggestions would be to add a 13-17 (i personally think its insane to promote teen pregnancy but to each their own) to the list with the others so that older women dont have to see so many babies having babies in their older forums. i know there's a whole list but it would just be more convenient to have it right above the 18-24.

Also to be able to edit your profile from the app and upload photos and read messages and add friends and to be able to report posts/comments. Most people just use their phones and the mobile website on the browser is very difficult to navigate

I do know how to get to the other forums, however considering the app is "im expecting" i think it should have just pregnancy forums on it. It's a little confusing and tedious for most the women on this app to search around trying to find the other forums such as the social one. They end up giving up and just posting in the pregnancy forum but it gets miscategorized by pc users and moved where they cant find it.

Just a few suggestions. ^_^

Hi again,

The fruit size widget is part of our Android app -- could you send an email via the app to our support team about this?  They'll be able to give you more info about this.  To send the email, tap "Settings", and then "Support", making sure to say "yes" when it asks you to send data so that they can identify the type of device you're using, as well as the app version.

You can get notified via email about a variety of events, including any responses to your posts.  To do this, go to your profile on the website, and click the "Settings" link.  From there, use the checkboxes to select what kinds of mail you want to get from us.

I can see the pregnancy tracker but when I go to my apps to try to get the fruit baby size widget to put on my home page it doesnt show up. Not sure how else to try to get it to show up.

I wasn't personally reported for saying take a test, i saw a girl in the forum expressing frustration for being reported for saying that, she said she recieved an email that said it was "rude". So I thought that was a little odd to get reported for, might of been a mistake.

Oh also getting notifications of comments made on posts would be cool! i can only imagine that it'll take some time to update the app but that would be cool idea. Or even emails, unless it already does that for emails?

Hi, Zim,

We're always updating the app, and some of your suggestions are under consideration for future versions.  Understand that apps typically don't have full web functionality, and that most apps will direct you to the mobile web version of their site to perform certain actions, just as ours does.

Because we take all of our members' privacy very seriously, we don't discuss any specific actions related to other members.  For the same reason, I won't discuss any emails you may have received from us in this public forum, but I'll be happy to discuss it with you privately (PM or email), if you like.

Generally, though, when we communicate with members about an action we take, we're very clear about our reasons.  Members are never warned simply for telling someone to "take a test" -- that's good advice, and certainly not a violation of our Terms of Use.  If you have time, please take a look at our Terms of Use.

We try to keep our forums safe and useful for our members and, out of respect for them, we remove posts that disrupt the community in any way.  There are many other forums on the Internet where these "strict" measures aren't taken -- you can recognize them by the rampant advertising, spam, and abusive/disrespectful/trollish posts.

Regarding moved posts -- we automatically notify the members by email whenever we move a post.  The email always contains a link to the new location of their post so that they can find it.  If you haven't received an email from us, please check to make sure that you provided us with a valid email address.

I'm seeing the Pregnancy Tracker on your page, which syncs with the I'm Expecting app, and it appears to have synced fairly recently.  Can you let me know if you're not seeing it?

Claire
