Posting on the expert forums

How do you post a question on the expert forums? I've tried this twice and it leads me always to the community forums.

Thanks

Jorge

Hi there  -

What forum are you trying to post to?  It will bounce you back to a member forum if you are attempting to post to a closed thread in an expert forum, if the forum is closed to new questions (either because the number of new questions per day has been reached or because the forum is closed for new questions as a whole), etc.

If you can tell me what forum, I can be more specific with my answer.  If you'd like to PM me, that's fine, too.

I tried the Heart Disease expert forum. But my post could be included in any heart-related expert forum. The only place I saw to put questions said, on the right of the screen, something like  "put your health question here", and I was directed to a community forum.

Thank you

Oh that will always post in a member forum.  To post in an expert forum, you'll have to go directly to that forum.  Unfortunately, our  heart disease forum is currently closed as we do not have an expert.

We do have some other expert heart forums that are open - Cardiovascular Disease Prevention -  http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Cardiovascular-Disease-Prevention/show/261  ;, Heart Rhythm Health International - http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Heart-Rhythm/show/730 if you are not in the US.

Don't count out the member forums, though.  We have some extremely knowledgeable members in all our forums, especially our Heart ones.

Best wishes,
Emily

Thank you!

I successfully posted in the Heart Rhythm forum!

I hope to have an answer soon (especially as I have paid for it...)

When you want to ask a question from a doctor, how do you do it?  I think what I thought was posted to a neurologist is posted to a forum.   I don't even know what to fill in the TO: box above this comment.  So I don't even know if this will even post this comment.

Hi, lisa8220,

You did post in the Neurology forum, but it's in our Patient Support area.  Here's a link to the Neurology Expert Forum: http://www.medhelp.org/forum_disclaimers/show/135

There's no need to enter anything in the To: field.  Just go ahead and post your question in the larger white box, the way you did here and in the neurology forum.

I want to post to the Undiagnosed Symptoms expert forum, but there doesn't even appear to be an option to post something there. Does that mean it's closed? If so, why doesn't it say that? And how do I get help if it is closed?

margoGo, try posting in the Undiagnosed Symptoms community here:  http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Undiagnosed-Symptoms/show/95
One of our experts, doctornee medical, frequently answers questions there.

Hi there -

Only certain expert forums have a fee associated with them, and you'd be prompted for payment before you even posted the question.  Our member forums, journals, user groups and trackers are all free.

I don't see that you've asked a question yet, but when you do, the reply will be right under your question.  Depending on how your email notifications are set up, you will get an email notice that you have an answer to your question.  You can also find all your posts by going to your profile (click on your name, or choose Profile under the My MedHelp tab in the upper right corner of every page).

Our forum list is also at the top of the page, and you can choose the best forum for your concern.  Our member forums are on the left and those are always free, and our Expert forums are on the right.  If you can't afford to pay, please try the member forums.  Not only can members provide you with great support, but they are often very knowledgeable and can help guide you through the medical stuff.

Hope this helps,
Emily

Hi there -

Yes, unfortunately we had to close the expert forums in June, 2014.

You may want to try one of our member communities, though. We have some amazing members who may be able to help you with your questions. Our full list of communities is found here - http://www.medhelp.org/forums/list and the member communities are on the left.

Let us know if you need any assistance.
