troll tracking

I have been getting a few obscene and tasteless notes from users whom other users claim are trolls. When I try to look one up I get lots of posts with several different names as contributors than the one I looked up. What gives?

Look I gave people the link just for informational purposes and let's remember just to follow any regulations here in a standard format. Unfortunately when there is a discussion on "trolls" it sets users against each other. Let's not try to guess who is a "troll" which is just internet parlance for a variety of ways people misuse a site. The best thing to do is, as the poster above said is to report any offensive pm's, block the users and flag any posts that are offensive as such. If a whole profile is like that then click "report abuse" and report the user. Let's not worry whether they are "trolls" or are sincere in their purposes but just posting things that are offensive or hateful. If its a misuse of the forum then it should be reported as such and the administrators can handle the decision as to what is to be done as they have the user's information and if it appears fraudelent they would figure it out and its better just to report abuse judiciously and reasonably and not speculate about why it occured.

If you're getting obscene and tasteless notes, you should report them to the moderators. Just click Report This. They should be able to review the notes and ban them if they are trolls.
