Confused about MRSA swab....

Since I have a weakened immune system I get staph and other things sometimes. I have had MRSA before and Cellulitis, too. I am constantly paranoid I am spreading things to people.
The other day my doctor was trying to ease my mind and told me he would swab my nose to see if my infection on my nose was MRSA, but also see if I was a carrier of MRSA. He told me some people are carriers and have it always and can just spread it. :/
My test results came back negative for staph and negative for MRSA. But, does that still mean I could be a carrier?
Every time I try to call the doctor's office he is busy and the nurses just say you are negative, "you don't have it and you're not a carrier if it is negative."
Does anyone else know if that is correct or not? If I was a carrier, woudl it have shown up in the swab as MRSA even if there was no active infection?

I can understand you being worried about getting infections due to weakened immune system. Why is it weakened? But, I wouldn't over worry. Then it is not helpful for anyone. No if you are negative you are negative. That is it. You are not a carrier. The nurses are right. You have cleared it. That is it. You can stop worrying.

I have ulcerative colitis and take an immunosuppressant to help it. Thank you!
Sorry you have that. I hope you have a good doctor.
