Is there odor on skin w/ cellulitis?

My right arm looks and feels sunburned, and no matter how many times I wash it with soap there is a weird smell to the affected area. There are no blisters, just hot and red skin from wrist to bicep with the odor. I do work with animals and unknowingly received a cat scratch prior to having this arm submerged in a dirty fish aquarium I was cleaning 2 days ago. I know this is most likely the reason for this condition, I just don't know what I'm dealing with and whether or not it is significant enough to seek medical attention on a weekend. Thanks for any input; I've been unable to find anything online that fits this.

Hi, have you been diagnosed with cellulitis yet? If it is cellulitis the breakdown of skin can cause a mousy or grape like (fruity) odor. The common bacterial cause of this (staph) could be the problem and gets in by a break in the skin. But since you work in a fish aquarium, a bacteria called Mycobacterium marinum could also be the culprit. So if you can I would see if they can culture this. If it is Mycobacterium marinum  it wouldn't respond to the usual antibiotics. So be sure to mention that you were cleaning an aquarium when you got this and wondered if you got Mycobacterium marinum  from it.  Do you have  a fever or swelling of the arm? Also, it is usualy red as well.
