Chlamydophila pneumoniae Infection

I have tested for Chlamydia IgG antibody panel and in the results
Chlamydia trachomatis IgG  Result came as 0.21
Chlamydophila pneumoniae IgG  Result came as 1.71

Interpretation

Result (Index)                                                                Remarks
Less than 0.8                                                                 Negative
More than or equal to 0.8  ---  Less than 1.1                 Equivocal
More than or equal to 1.1                                              Positive

What does the result signifies. Does it mean I am positive for Chlamydophila pneumoniae?

I am suffering from neck burning , armpit burning and pain . Even my body remains hot and I get drenched with sweat and I feel fatigue all the time. I have even eye irritation and it becames red and throughout body i can feel nerve pain . I am also facing skin problems. This symptoms are there from last eight month and I am unable to do anything and sitting in my home idle.

I don't have any respiratory problems. Does this problems are due to Chlamydophila pneumoniae?

Your symptoms may or may not be related to this positive antibody test.  This needs to be further investigated.

The antibody test doesn't pinpoint exactly when the exposure was; it could of been years ago or two weeks ago...........it merely is proof that you have had an exposure.

Once you are positive you will always be positive.

And yes, the Neurologist would be a good start in my opinion since the underlying complains sound nerve related.

Do discuss this with your GP of course.

Keep us posted.

Just one more Question Maam.....Sorry for disturbing you too much....
I am having severe burning in the neck area specially front side. It is not inside but superficial. Feeling like on skin and nerves/blood vessels over there. Similarly I am having burning in both the armpit and its everyday phenomenon and because of this my body gets hot and warm.

Dry face and rashes are also other issues.

Do you think Neurologist(as you already stated) would be the correct person to consult?

One more question I would like to ask you.....
It is being said that Chlamydophila pneumonia is almost found in normal population and its very easy to catch. So if someone catches C.pneumoniae anytime in his life. Does it mean that antibody for C.pneumoniae will be present in his/her body for lifetime?

Does it mean that anybody who catch C.pneumoniae long ago would also test positive for C.pneumoniae antibody test?

Well, I wouldn't consider Lyme's unless you fit the risk profile, e.g.  hiker, someone who spends a great deal of time outdoors and/or your area is a risk area, nevertheless you can still have the testing done to put your mind at ease.

Have you consulted or seen a Neurologist?

Six Months back Chest Xray was done. At that time Xray was normal. I have been suffering from past Eight months. Especially now I have burning and pain in my neck and armpit area. Also eye irritation and pain. Dry skin and a lot of folliculitis in face.

I didn't traveled to any area risky of Lyme. I am just putting a guess  as I am having a hell lot of symptoms and my symptom doesn't point to any particular disease.

No, there are no additional test for confirmation.  The lab is simply confirming an exposure, not per se active disease.

You will need further testing/assessment if this is active.  Being that you are having symptoms (neuro symptoms) I would say you possibly have active disease.  It is possible to have neuro symptoms without pulmonary symptoms.

Any chest imaging doing............ CT of the chest?  Chest Xray?

If you have concerns about Lyme disease that is a simple lab as well.

I can't comment on what you have, but it is possible to have Lyme disease and this too.  Why are you thinking you could have Lyme disease?  Unless you fit the risk profile and live and/or have traveled to an area which is risky for Lyme's then I would say you probably aren't dealing with any Lyme disease.

How can I know that  Chlamydophila pneumoniae results are pointing to past infection or recent acute infection?

Do I need to do any additional test for confirmation of Chlamydophila pneumoniae?

I consulted a lot of doctor but nobody able to figure out my disease and at last while looking over internet i had decided to test for Chlamydophila pneumoniae. Is there any possibility that I may have Lyme disease too?
