fungal thrush, candida, yeast infection ???

hi guys,

im 23, male. seem to be in good health. have anxiety regarding my heart so to be honest I've had heaps of blood tests over the years, and other tests.

the strange thing is I notice I usually get thrush a minimum of once a year, if not 2 or 3 times!. im not diabetic, and it clears up quickly with cream. my partner usually gets it right after if we have intercourse.

recently I had the beginning of it (slightly swell foreskin, little white bits). I put a little natural yoghurt on it as I had no cream around. I then left it.

3 weeks forward, I seemed to develop a rash under one armpit, one elbow crease, my penis forskin itself spreading in my inner legs, but not under the head like usual, and on the palms of my hands. I had no fever, no illness otherwise, and no cough or cold before this.

I was tested for a host of things, my bloods were normal 3 times, within 7 days. they gave me anti fungal medication flucanozole 150mg.

does this sound like systematic thrush?

Hi we are not doctors on these sites. But I am a microbiologist and can try to give you some advice. Superficial candida skin infections appear as a red flat rash with sharp, scalloped edges. Smaller patches of similar-appearing rash, known as "satellite lesions" or "satellite pustules," are usually nearby. These rashes may be hot, itchy, or painful. Usually, if the skin is kept too moist, like if you take too many showers or like in the genital area that area is typically moist naturally. That is why people get jock itch and also in the foot area they get "athletes foot". These latter types of fungus are not caused by a yeast but rather by a fungus. So, keep these areas dry and clean and change clothing if you are exercising or if you have an infection do it regularly after putting on medication. It is easily spread by touching one spot and not washing your hands then touching another spot. But if you have a rash on other parts of the body that may be something different. It may or may not be related. It could be a allergy to detergent or a fragrance etc. I don't think it is systemic. You would have  a high temperature and be very ill. And they did blood cultures on you as you stated. They would have seen fungus in the culture. But usually if systemic fungus is suspected they do a special culture for that. It isn't that unusual if you have a new girl friend for especially her to get a yeast infection at first and then eventually the person gets used to the new partner. But then you could be spreading it back and forth if you both are not treated at the same time. If your rash looks different than what you see in the groin area then you may want to see a dermatologist. Is it possible for you to have acquired an STD? If so I would check for Syphilis just to be sure. But I don't think you have that or you would have it just on the palms and feet not other places. If you had a big risk for some reason obviously check for everything. As for the heart issue. Are you having palpitations? This may be caused by stress if your EKG or EEG was normal. To rule this out you can do a 24 hour monitor if they do that in the UK where you take the monitor home and wear it on you for 24 hours. It can tell you if you have an arrhythmia. Also, cut down on sugar and caffeine. You are young but sometimes you can have structural problems so you can also get a echocardiogram. It is not likely and rare. If you have other questions let me know.
