is it normal ?
hi everybody..
i need some information and advice..
i made check about some infectious diseases
that can transmitted thought relationship and close contact..
anyway everything was fine exept i tested postive
for CMV and EBV !!
i dont have any health problem, is it really normal
thing to have antibodies agnist this viruses..?
i read that 85% from people had already CMV and 90% had already EBV..
thats mean there is many people had them both!!
i read bad things about these viruses, EBV linked with some types of cancers!! and CMV can affect the fetus during pregnancy !!
this things let me repeat same question in my mind always ( is it really normal to have this viruses)??
anybody can share some information please :)

Hi there!
When you take the tests, these detect the antibodies against the infections i.e. the body’s immune reaction against the virus and not the virus itself. An increased antibody titre is usually indicative of a previous infection and it is not uncommon to test positive for EBV or CMV. It is the virus/ infection and not the body’s immune response that is responsible for the adverse effects and hence having tested positive for EBV/ CMV without signs of infection should not be anything to worry about.
