Waking up and then falling asleep in the morning

I wake up in the morning after 8-9 hours of sleep but often fall asleep within 5 minutes if I don't get up from my bed. Then I sleep for 1 more hour, usually dreaming a lot. On such days, I feel less alert after getting up.

Should I get up right away? I've heard that it's hard to oversleep (i.e. impossible to really fall asleep in the day with no sleep debt), but apparently that's not accurate.

Thanks :)

The best measure of how much sleep you need is how alert you feel during the day. Therefore, experiment for 3-4 days with a pre-determined amount of sleep (8 hours for example), then assess how you feel during the day. Do the same for 9 hours, etc. Sometimes too much sleep can make people feel less alert upon waking due to “sleep inertia” but you may feel more alert during the day.

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder. I think you need to drink milk every time you are going to sleep. It will help a lot.
