fasiculations---> insomnia for last 4 months

Until about 4 months ago, I slept like a baby, about 9 hours a day.  Then I had fasiculations on my stomach and back during muscle stimulation therapy with my chiropractor which persisted until a week later when I began getting the fasciculations anywhere from head to toe.  A few days later I began getting a very quick what felt like a freezing feeling in my head where everything would seem to stop and would occur EVERYTIME I would be about to doze off, thus keeping me awake for 72 hours.  It has been 4 months now, and I have gone without sleep for 72 hours 3 times, and get about 3-6 hours sleep in between these times.  I went for a sleep study and all they noticed was grinding teeth and a low sleep efficiency of about 65%.  It's random in the fact that sometimes I fall asleep right away, but wake up early and cant fall back asleep, or fall asleep right away, but wake up and fall asleep just to wake up every hour for the next 4 hours and remember about 6 dreams in the meantime, or have trouble falling asleep from the on-start to end up falling asleep from 3am-7am or not at all.  After about two months of sleeping this way, I began to have body jerks at night.  I can get about 20 of them within a 90 min time frame and frustrates me to the point of not being able to sleep.  (these jerks occur before falling asleep and can happen with my eyes open but only when I'm very drowsy)  I can't sleep past 7am no matter what time I fall asleep, and for some reason can't nap during the day, so if I don't get sleep one night, I have to wait till the next night to fall asleep.  I have had to quit school and can't work because of this and am very scared.  Please leave me any comments that you think may help me, I don't know what to do.

They usually meet with the patient 3-4 weeks after the study to review the results and suggest treatment options if warranted.

My sleep physician said we will figure this out and to see me back in 3 months.   This could be because I am cash paying and can't afford further help though...What would sleep physicians normally do when a patient is under their care after a sleep study?

If you are this impaired from sleep problems, and your complaints are this complex, you need to be under the care of the sleep physician who evaluated your sleep study.
