at age 73 can I take Effexor for the rest of my life?
redsunset15
Effexor XR at 37.5 seems to help my anxiety, mild depression and sleeplessness. I have never taken an antidepressant before. At age 73 can I take Effexor XR 37.5 for the rest of my life so that I do not go through withdrawal having to stop?

Since Effexor is not a sleep medication but is an antidepressant, you will need to ask the doctor who is prescribing it.

added comment, Benadryl, (tylenol's simply sleep) helps. I wonder if it is addictive.
