Conceiving after ectopic laparoscopy surgery

Hi,
I am 25 years old, and have had 2 miscarriages (12/01 and 02/09). I also had a unilateral twin ectopic pregnancy (8 week old twins - 1 in my right tube, 1 attached to my right ovary) which resulted in laparoscopic surgery leaving my tube & ovary intact! My questions to you:
1) How long should I wait before trying to get pregnant again?
2) Are there any tests/procedures I should request of my obgyn to ensure that my fertility is intact?
3) Is Spina Bifida hereditary? Are there tests to determine this? (my partner has S.B. and hydrocephalus)

1) How long should I wait before trying to get pregnant again?
Usually you should wait about 2-3 months to let yourself recover from surgery.
2) Are there any tests/procedures I should request of my obgyn to ensure that my fertility is intact?
Yes, you can do a hysterosalpingogram or HSG to inject your tubes with dye and take x-rays to see if they are open or damaged.
3) Is Spina Bifida hereditary? Are there tests to determine this? (my partner has S.B. and hydrocephalus).
This is from the Spina Bifida Association website: http://www.spinabifidaassociation.org/site/c.liKWL7PLLrF/b.2664425/apps/s/content.asp?ct=3822567
"What Causes Spina Bifida?
The exact cause of Spina Bifida is unknown. It is believed both genetic factors (one or more genes) and environmental factors interact to cause Spina Bifida. Therefore, it is possible individuals inherit multiple genes that make them susceptible to having Spina Bifida, but something in the environment triggers the Spina Bifida to develop."
