Help with pregnancy

I turned 44 in June and have been trying to concieve my 5th child since May.  Unfortionately we have not been successful!  My period is every 28 days.  What are my chances of having a baby?

It sounds like your saying the chance of having a healthy baby are very slim.  Is there anything that can be done to get pregnant?  Or should I not even try since the chance of having a healthy child is slim?

Statistically at age 44-- percent infertile is 29% and percent chance of remaining childless is 64%,  according to Menken J. Trussell J, Larsen U. Age and Fertility. Science. 1986;23:1389.
At age 44 your risk of chromosomal abnormality in Newborn is 1/38 for Down Syndrome and Total risk for Chromosomal Abnormalities is 1/26. according to Maternal Fetal Medicine: Practice and Principles. Creasy and Resnick, eds. W.B. Sanunders, Philadelphia, PA. 1994:71.
