LUFS, PCOS and Metformin

Hello!   We have been undergoing fertility treatments (now injectables - follistim and IUI) I have been diagnosed with Mild PCOS and also have severe Endometriosis. I have been closely monitored by ultrasound and we have found that my follicles typically don't rupture (one in four will actually rupture, even with an hcg trigger shot). I have been told the number one cause is PCOS and number 2 is endometriosis. I have been on metformin for three weeks now.. can this help with the rupturing of the folllicles? ( LUFS?) since it helps control the number one cause of this in the first place? THank you so very much for your time!

Thanks so much for your help! they believe its the combination of my mild pcos and the severe endo on the ovary that causes my LUFS, we will probably have to do IVF next! Thanks so much for your time!

I do not feel that Metformin will directly affect release of the follicles but it can overall help you with PCOS in conjuction with fertility medication. I would not use Metformin alone since it has been demonstrated in a study that ovulation is better with ovulation medications than with Metformin alone.
Perhaps all of your follicles do not ovulate because the size is not optimal when you get the HCG trigger. The follicle may have be to at least 16mm before they rupture sometimes and so if they are smaller they do not actually release an egg.
