What is going on??

I have had regular periods since I started at age 13. I have had 2 children, most recent was May of 2007. But in August 2007 I started bleeding for almost 2 months straight & I went to the E.R. and they gave me a shot to stop the bleeding but it only worked for a day. The bleeding came back and stopped around Jan 2008. I had a period in Feb and then I didn't have another period until April, and I had one this month but it was 2 weeks late. What could be causing this? I know I have low progesterone because with my 2 pregnancies I had to take progesterone suppositories in order to sustain the pregnancy. Me and my husband are trying for another baby, but I can't seem to get pregnant. We have been trying since our last son was born. After my 2 miscarriages before, it took us 14 mths to get pregnant with our 1st son. They prescribed me birth control but it didn't really help so I quit taking it. Can you please help me!!??

You're welcome. After you see your gynecologist, if you are not getting pregnant, I suggest that you see a specialist for fertility called a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist. I wish you wellness.

You need a complete evaluation by history, pelvic exam, hormone blood test like FSH,estradiol, TSH, PRL, pregnancy test and an ultrasound of you uterus and ovaries and depending on your age an endometrial biopsy. This can be done by a gynecologist.
