4 months ago I....

Hi, I'm a Type 2 diabetic, have psoriasis, psoratic arthritis(and I'm 35)...4 months ago I went through a series of "heart" test, EKG, the treadmill, and some blood work. (Just a preventative check up, because I'm overweight) The cardio Dr. said I was fine. For the past 2 weeks, whenever I exercise my chest hurts, before I had some chest discomfort, now it hurts, and it aches for a while after I am done exercising. My breathing is ok, I think I'm just short of breath because I'm exercising,is that normal for an overweight person? Please let me know, I don't have medical insurance and really can't afford to go back, thanks.

Some people do experience chest tightness when they are deconditioned (out of shape), however I would not blow off any chest pain that occurs in the setting of exercise. I would let your cardiologist know that you are having these chest pains as he/she may want to be more aggressive and consider a repeat stress test (with imaging, perhaps) or even a cardiac catheterization.
