It happens. Last year I had my normal annual cardiac workup and it started out as usual with an EKG and when my cardiologist saw it she turned white as a ghost and told me it appeared I had suffered a heart attack since our last visit. She put me through a series a questions trying to determine if I could remember any events that may have been an MI. After about 30 minutes of discussion, she brought in what she called a more "experienced" tech to do another EKG. I can still remember hearing them talk in the hall outside the exam room I was in telling the tech to rush the EKG to her as soon as she had it as she wanted to schedule a cath right away if it was still bad.
Long story short, it was normal the second time and was just called an error in placement of one of the leads. Errors happen, just have to accept it I guess. I wouldn't worry about the stress test, knowledge of a problem is much better than having a condition you don't know about.
I hope all goes well.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I do have high blood pressure and my father died of a heart attack at 69 (but he did not take care of himself by going to the doctor and was a smoker) and my mother has high blood pressure but is still alive at 79. I am one of these people that always worry about these kind of things, but I do take care of myself and see the doctor on a regular basis.
Thanks
Lois
