Heart Failure and swelling

Hello,
I am Diabetic and when I sit for long periods of time, my legs and feet swell terribly. It's the only time I seem to experience bad swelling. Should I consult with a heart doctor for a possible heart failure condition or is this just typical of Diabetes. Your answer is very much appreciated. Treesie263

This sounds like dependent edema and not heart failure.  Have they checked for protein in your urine as this can cause these symptoms as can poor veins in your legs.  I would talk with your doctor about this so you can have this evaluated.

I am a type II diabetic too.  When I sleep, sit down too long at car or work.  My both hand swell and the fingers are unable to hold.  My legs only swell when I come back from work.  It resolves by itself very quickly.

I told once to my cardiologist.  My fingers swell and unable to close when I woke up in the morning.  He said, "I know!"  But he didn't treat or fix it.  Now I'm getting worse and worse.  He still knows it?

I also confused who is the specialist will look after which part of my body too???
