Left Sided Chest Pain and Burning

I am a 40 year old female who has been having occasional left sided chest pain and burning for about 2 1/2-3 weeks now. It is a dull ache sometimes and sharp pain other times. My upper left arm also gets very sore and achy and sometimes I have a cold and numb left hand. This morning I woke up and I have been having sharper pain and burning all day so I went to the Emergency Room and had some tests done.My blood tests, chest xrays and ekg have all came back normal. Can you please help me figure this out.  Sometimes the pain gets very sharp and I can just be sitting around doing nothing.

Thank you,

Did you have an exercise echo to exclude a cardiac cause?  Is your blood pressure equal in both arms?  Did you have a CT scan to exclude a herniated disc or an emg to exclude a pinched nerve?

I just wanted to let you know that I had the same symptoms and also thought it was heart related. In fact the cardiologist I saw thought perhaps it was coronary artery spasms and put me on low-dose norvasc for it. However it did nothing to relieve my symptoms. Finally he ordered a HIDA scan which revealed that my gallbladder was not functioning properly. I did not have gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed and the symptoms completely disappeared. If your heart tests show that everything is OK there, you might want to talk to your doctor about a HIDA scan for the gallbladder, NOT JUST an ultrasound which only shows gallstones.
