When ruptured mitral corda must be repaired?

I was recently diagnosed of ruptured mitral valve corda with prolapsed mitral and mild regurgitation. I remain asyntomatic and I have no murmurs or clicks. I want to know what have I to do and how soon have my valve repaired.

Ive had MVP since I was 9 years old.  i have begged my dr to fix mine but he says that the risks are to great to risk it.  im tired all the time.  i think fixing it would really help, but my dr said would you rather be tired or death.  Harsh I know, but its true

The valve should be repaired once the regurgitation becomes severe and you should be followed by periodic echocardiograms.
