I have 6 stents in my heart now. i have had 8 angeoplasties and i was wondering if taking 2 40mg timed released tablets. One in the morning one around 7 pm, i get no chest pain or any discomfort in any way, in your opinions will this have a bad effect on me later in life. because now i feel very good and my quelity of life has improved a 100%. So i dont want to stop unless it is absolutly better if i do sorry about spelling (THANK YOU)

I'm so surprised.  I got answers from Dr Douglas Bogart and heart_of_mine.  Thank you both of you.

I'm not on any heart medication.  I only take 2.5mg of Glipizide if need.  I got a pacemaker which set pacing rate at 65. If my heart rate is falled below 65, it'll pace. So it is guranteed my heart rate will stay at 65 mininum.  Then I don't know where the 40's rate will happen unless my pacemaker is not working in proper way.  It has been checked so many times and so closed.  The EP said it works well.  The tech said looks all good!

I know my heart can stop but the pacemaker will kick in.  The cardio said it is normal, nothing wrong.  I suppose everyone would happen like that so he'll say is normal.  I don't know why mine can't restart by itself and need a pacemaker to kick?

Sorry for a question again, would it normal with a pacemaker also show a QTc like mine?

The QT interval varies with the heart rate and the faster the rate the shorter the QT and with slow heart rates the QT prolongs.  However 695 is distinctly abnormal and clearly requires further workup.  As mentioned drugs can also alter the QT interval.  At slow heart rates --in the 40's the QT can approach 500 msec in normal women.

There is a QT drug list available on the internet that has a list of drugs that can prolong the QT. The QT goes back to normal after the drug is stopped.
Lieke - Only a small percentage of people, mostly women can have a QTc over 480 ms, but I stress it is a very small percentage. Electrolyte imbalances, thyroid problems and some other heart conditions can cause a prolonged QT. Your best bet is to see an Electrophysiologist if you haven't already. Have you been diagnosed with LQTS?
PikaPika88 - You need a second opinion!! Have you seen an experienced LQTS Electrophysiologist? Check out the SADS website and they can help you find one in your area.
Good luck to you both

I would like to see the answer too.

Mine ECG was recorded 495.  Holter monitor recorded 675.  Dr said it is normal but I feel very dizziness on the day when I wore the holter monitor.
