You have LVH. Left ventricular hypertrophy.
In English: Whether you know it or not, you have had longstanding high blood pressure. Your heart has bulked up so it is strong enough to be able to push blood against this high pressure, much like your biceps bulk up when lifting weights. This is not a good thing. Because your heart is now bulky, it is stiff and cannot relax and fill well. If you cannot fill a pump, it cannot do its job. That is "diastolic dysfunction." Easy to understand, no?
Now, because the blood from your lungs empties into the left side of the heart, if it cannot relax, blood "backs up" into your lungs and causes, guess what, pulmonary hypertension. Smoking can also lead to pulmonary hypertension.
You need to stop smoking, and get your blood pressure under control. Don't wait. Find a doctor who will help you. If you do not, you're in for serious problems down the road. Do it for your kids.
Sincerely,
A concerned observer
I have had an evaluation. ALL blood work came back fine, and the only thing that happened is he took me off all restrictions (diet, activities, ect.) Again, he seemed far more worried about my anxiety than anything else.
You need a complete evaluation by a cardiologist as you clearly have heart disease based on the echo. Go get an evaluation !!!!
