SVT, HPB, Diabetes2, Pain/Burn Chest, Upper Back
I am 48, 5'3, 250#. HBP started when I was 18yo,120#, very active. Diabetic about 3yrs, out of control a few times, bp running 185 to 199/ 102 to 146 for about 3 months now. Seen a specialist (intern, endo, diabetic, & metabolic). He has put me on Carvedilol 25mg 2x a day, Nifedipine (Procardia XL) 60mg 1x day, Glimepiride 4mg 1x day, and continued me on Phenytoin EX 300mg @ night (had 3 seizures in 20yrs -age 24, 34, & 46)& Ecotrin 325mg 1 @ night. Have major problems with diaherra, and diverticular disease. Hospitalized in May of '07 w/preferations starting - there for 3 days, back in ER 1 wk, no insurance - kept me on antibotics for about 2 months. Alegeric to pencillin, tetracycline, & opiates. Also have a psuedotumor cerbri (had paplidemia was on steriods for over 1yr in '85), and SVT.
Will have blood work done on 6/20, go back to specialist on 06/26. Am having burning sensations above left breast, tightening pain in that area, center of chest, and center of shoulder blades, also top of left shoulder. Am under a great deal of stress. Non-smoker, non-drinker. What do you think might be going on? Thank You!!!!!!

I am a male 40 years old, 6'0 275lbs being treated for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I do not smoke and I exercises moderately 4 times a week. Besides the exercise, I have a desk job 5 days a week getting little other exercise. Someone suggested that I consider a inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin. Recent blood work revealed cholesterol at 118 but CPK at 205 also I have been experiencing lower back pain. Do you think I should consider this image screening?
