Hi
I am a male 40 years old, 6'0 275lbs being treated for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I do not smoke and I exercises moderately 4 times a week. Besides the exercise, I have a desk job 5 days a week getting little other exercise. Someone suggested that I consider a inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin. Recent blood work revealed cholesterol at 118 but CPK at 205 also I have been experiencing lower back pain. Do you think I should consider this image screening?
I am reading your symptoms and they are so similar to mine. Everytime I bent forward to fill my dryer or dishwasher I would feel everything going black and I was sure I was about to pass out. I also had frequent palpatations. I had many cardiologists tell me there was nothing wrong. I worked with 3 cardiologists and 2 invasive cardiologists...I spent 5 years with these symptoms until I found a doctor who actually figured out what was wrong with me. It took a 14 day cardiac monitor. On it they documented many episodes of PSVT, PACs, PVCs and frequent atrial premature complexes. The PSVTs that were sustained for half a minute or so I was aware of. I am on a beta blocker now and the SVT is controlled. I am going to see an EP next week to see if I can get the SVT ablated. But so far I am thrilled to be able to bend over and not feel like I am going to pass out.
I wish you well in getting to the cause of your symptoms. Hang in there!
You need to have a work-up for these symptoms. Have they checked for orthostatic blood pressure change( change in the BP with standing) or a change in your heart rate wihen you stand?? An stress echocardiogram will help exclude structural heart disease. If you are not getting the answers get another opinion.
