atrial fib symptoms besides fast pulse

Are there other symptoms of atrial fib besides extremely fast heart rate? I have an ICD for NICD and take sotalol twice daily. I have been experiencing episodes of extremely irregular pulse with it dropping into the 40's, light headedness, dizziness, chest pain, increased fluid retention and cough. I have the sensation of having oxygen cut off to my brain, yet my heart rate is low and blood pressure is low. My cardiologist put me on 25mg of toprol in addition to the sotalol a couple of weeks ago  and it has taken care of the arrythmia. I was diagnosed with atrial fib with a 30 day monitor last year, and the symptoms I was experiencing then is like the ones I have had recently.  All of the forums I have read related to atrial fib refer to rapid rate so I was curious.

When someone is on sotolol it can slow the heart rate from the atrial fibrillation and your symptoms from the atrial fib might well change.  You should be checked for heart failure with the fluid retention and cough.

Thank you for answering my question. I have increased my diuretic and have a followup visit scheduled with my cardiologist. God bless.
