tachycardia

My mother has had PACs and PVCs for about two years. The doctors she has been to have tried serveral different medicines, but none of them have worked. recently she has developed super ventricular tachycardia. She went in for an ablasion and it did not worked like we had hoped. My mother is a very active person who is losing hope of finding a way to cure this. The doctors keep telling us that her condition is not life threstening, but isn't life hindering just as bad. If you have any suggestions please let me know. She needs her life back.

It should be reasurring to know that your mom,s arrhythmia is not life threatening. You should try and reassure your mom of that. If she is able to stop feeling anxious about having a bad outcome, she can get more out of life. ireneo's comments above are right on and should help

I don't know how many PVC's and PAC's your mom has nor how often she has the tachy times. I also have the same three varieties but I think I live a very full life. I've had my arrhythmias all my life but have had 3 kids (all grown now) and have a demanding job working with wildlife. I travel now and then and of course, do all my day to day "stuff." It's true I have a few limitations - I've never been able to run or climb hills (my heart pops into PSVT) but that's not a big deal. I've had 3 ablations and my heart isn't perfect but it's better than it was. Still have the premature beats every day and occasional (a few times a week) brief tachy times. All this rambling is just to say that I think life can still be fun with arrhythmias. It's just a matter of letting it go and doing everything you can to enjoy life. Oh, and I don't take meds. The side effects weren't worth it for me.
