tightness in the chest

I have been experiencing a tightness in my left side of the chest for over a week now.  About a week ago I began having acute episodes several times a day.  These acute episodes include feeling short of breath, like someone is choking me.  I feel sick to my stomach, and dizzy.  They usually last 30 min to one hour.  I've had several visits to my dr and er and they seem to think it's anxiety, but I don't really have any stress in my life right now.  What could this be?  I feel tired and exhausted.

I'm a 33 yr old male.  my stress test came back normal and I'm waiting on the results to an echocardiogram.  My echo two years ago showed mild mitral valve regurgitation and mild aortic root enlargement.  I'll seek a cardiologist referal this week.  Any other suggestions?  Thank-you!

The likelihood of theese symptoms suggesting significant blockage in your heart blood vessels, requires factoring in your age and other risk factors. If you have not had a stress test, that may be a good way to start, in consultation with a cardiologist.
