I tested positive on a hydogen breath test, what should I do?

I did a hydrogen breath test for bacterial overgrowth, I've been having strange stool and upper right quadrant pain under my rib. At 2.5 hours into the test I blew 24 on the test, then it dropped, and a half hour later blew 26 and test ended. Could this be what has been causing my intermittant back aches and abdominal pain for 4 months?

The doctor said I could try rifaximin for a week and see if that helps. Does anyone that has SIBO or IBS know if this will help?

A week of Rifaximin may not cut it and should you have
candida issues, it will make things worse for you.
I would seek the advice of a very reputable nutritionist to help design a customized low carb elemental diet for you.
Elemental diets have at least 30% higher success rates for SIBO, compared to antibiotics, but they are bland and hard to adhere to for the duration of the suggested treatment.
Bone broth (pastured), full spectrum digestive enzymes and preventive measures could be vital considerations as well .
Best wishes,

Years later, I figured out I just had to stop drinking any alcohol (not even one drink) because I will get pain two days later, and had to cut back on caffeine. All of my symptoms are gone now.
