IBS and vitamins

I've had IBS for so many years now....and I've became Vegan.I feel better but now I need vitamins. Is there any that would make my bowels worse or better?

Keep in mind that gluten is also in vitamins and if you are allergic you will see your symptoms come back.  I see that you mentioned you were a vegetarian so you would not really consume gluten.  You can purchase gluten free vitamins on line...just do a search.

Thanks for the advice....I'm the D type...and I was afraid to take anything that would make things harder for me. Well I'll see how things go.

As I understand it, vitamins A, C, and E are all problematic, as is magnesium, if you are D type.  If you are C type you will probably find calcium a problem.  I have found supplementation particularly beneficial in my case; however, I do use a brand with particularly highly absorbent minerals (96% absorption) which means that virtually nothing gets to the colon.  (I stopped nodding off behind the wheel in about 10 days.  This, after a couple of years of fighting this off every afternoon.)  This may be why my results have been quite good, and it just may be me.  I don't know.  What I would suggest is that you at least use something with chelated minerals, which absorb about 45-50% to minimize any reactions.
