My story new to forum any help would be appreciated

Hi I'm Jim,

Just some info about me sorry if I babble.
I haven't been diagnosed with IBS but I've had the symptoms for 20 years or so on and off.
I suffer from such bad anxiety , white coat syndrome , needles , blood I'm a mess. I don't go
To doctors or hospitals at best I go to Medi care if I have strep or something but I barely can do that.
This is my current symptoms some newer then I'm use too.
Started June 16th with type 7 BM's and nausea, bad gas. This went on now till July 28th.
July 28th I had constipation bad cramps LLQ at times its RLQ or Upper. One day constipated next day diarrhea . Currently I just have Type 6 & Type 7 all week with cramps in LLQ mostly minor RLQ there are times in day I have no pain at all. I can only assume I have IBS my mother has it and had same issues. I have acid reflux and been taking Omeprazole for 10 years it works great for that. But I get trapped wind a lot this past week but my pain is mostly dull never bend over in pain or cant function. One thing happend today while I was searching web for my answer and it brought me to this informative forum. I keep notes on all my pain, gas, BM , Food intake and drinks and meds dates and times. According to my records the past 3 times I had pasta I got real bad bloating and pain is this a IBS issue because my mom doesn't have this problem? Only last thing I have no Blood in stool , no discoloration or anything like that. I do get quite a bit of mucus BM's lately . Any information on this would be greatly appreciated and thank you all in advance for dealing with my babbling on this issue my family is loosing patience with me but wife understands my panics and fears.

Thank you very much for all this informative information. I have been taking the omeprazole not for short term relief . I would be awoken with strong acid in my throut and mouth. I've tried to get off them several times and got worst. With these pills I'm reflux free. I started to take b complex with b12 vitamins along with multivitamin. I started FODMAP diet 4 days ago and do notice my pain level had decreased dramatically. I did have 6 BM's of diarrhea yesterday and nothing today topical IBS .. I do belch a lot also flatus I just hope all is going to be well now. The Low FODMAP diet is helping with pain but the D remains also have pain in lower left back more like flank not sure what that is its on and off all day. Thanks again NIKO your advice is worth gold...

OK, you may have to go wheat and gluten free as a trial,
but make sure you do it for a minimum of 3 months, since the effects of gluten linger around for a very long time
after you do gluten-free.
It is important to note that gluten is in shampoos, cosmetics, ointments, sauces, playdough, soy sauce,
envelopes, soups, condiments, etc and often not clearly listed as an ingredient!
Theoretically, the Omeprazole decreases gastric acid which "supposedly"" helps with GERD symptoms and at the same time causes low Intrinsic Factor, so you might need to  start supplementing with B12, but the Methylocobalamin B12, sublingual drops, would be the wiser choice, as it need no further conversion.
You might have developed some other deficiencies, specially if your gastric acid levels are low.
When combined with a PPI acid reducing drug, the
problem gets amplified. And taking it for 10 years?
is your doctor alewys on holidays?
It is contra-indicated to stay on PPIs long-term because of all the possible health implications!
How is it that it works great? Are you talking about fast short-term relief? Please read on!!!
Low gastric acid is more common in GERD than high gastric acid.
Acid reflux will still be a symptom when one has low levels of acid, as only a small amount of gastric acid is plenty  enough to cause the acid reflux.
The problem is that the whole process of digestion is in disarray when gastric levels are low.
Insufficient stomach acid leads to  the increase in intra-abdominal pressure (IAP). When IAP increases it pushes against the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) and it causes it to open, so even a microscopic amount of acid touches the inside of your esophagus it can produce large amounts of pain and burning.
This is because the esophagus has no protection like the stomach from acidity.
Absorption of essential nutrients and minerals would be impaired.
The immune system, naturally weakens in such circumstances.
Bacteria, toxins from undigested foods, higher levels of acid in the blood, wreak havoc in the body. Not a pretty picture!

You may want to do a Betaine HCL challenge (just follow the label instructions and if you consistently feel better on this, it indicates low gastric acid)
and/or the baking soda "burp"test. 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with a 1/4 cup of water. After drinking this,  count the minutes it takes to burp/belch. 3 minutes or less is healthy, longer indicates low gastric acid.

Magnesium is very important for digestion, gastric acid production ,  healthy heart function and heart rhythm regulation, calming effects, among many other important functions.
You could be a good candidate for a trial of magnesium.
Mg absorption requires plenty of Mg in the diet, Selenium, parathyroid hormone (PTH) and vitamins B6 and D
Orally you can use -what I believe is the best form of magnesium- magnesium chloride hexahydrate 25gr/L
solution with water.
Dose is 125 ml every 6-8 hours sipped very slowly.
Do not let possible initial laxative effects deter you, as they are  usually only temporary. Tapering up to the 125 ml lessens the lax effects
Also transdermal Magnesium Oil treatments every other day will be a great adjunct to boost levels as oral Mg is notoriously difficult to absorb
Magnesium Oil= 1/2 magnesium chloride flakes + 1/2 water.
Once dissolved , use a spray bottle and spray on your body, excluding sensitive areas, leave on for 20' and then shower.
It will help in more ways than you can imagine, but give it a few weeks, before you really experience results.

Some extra magnesium benefits:
-- Magnesium suppresses PTH and stimulates calcitonin helping put calcium into our bones and joints,  and also removing it from our soft tissues.
--Magnesium converts vitamin D into its active form to aid in Calcium absorption and over 300 gene expression.
All the enzymes that metabolize vitamin D require Magnesium.

Please note that my comments are not intended as a replacement for medical advice.

Best wishes,
Niko
