ps. sorry - was the person who told you a naturopath or a homeopath? My boyfriend had some blood tests which indicated he was sensitive and I was to an extent... you can get safe rolled oats, but you have to cook them... but then you can add what you want. Going Gluten-free isn't easy, I pretty much stopped eating bread products except crackers and stopped nuts and have sunflower butter instead - peanuts are notorious irritants If you want to drop me a line, I know it's confusing with being bombarded with info. Going Gluten-free will help your IBS, it takes time - but you can get tested by your doctor too.
I have far fewer attacks, but stress is a killer and some foods which I thought would be okay turn out not to be.. trial and error for each person.
Hang in there!
You might want to try a less harsh fiber... for IBS folks that one can cause a lot of bloating and actually can some constipation pain. There are a couple of formulas out there that you can put in a drink or food that are clear and non bulking - unfortunately I don't know them off-hand. If you can tolerate oatmeal for breakfast.. that's a good one, a good carb to get you going in more ways then one lol.
Welcome to the IBS community! This can often start working quickly or it can take a while. If it is making you feel too full, then you might want to back off a little.
