Thank you Paderla Anitha DNB ,I do drink tons of water and eat alot of fiberand that does'nt help, that is why I resort to stool softners with laxatives, I see you could have surgery to correct this problem, but that would be the last resort!

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Laxatives can help prevent constipation, but overuse can cause dependency and decreased bowel function. The best treatment for a tortuous colon is to reduce the stress on the colon. This can be done by introducing more fiber to the diet. Lack of adequate oral fluids and irregular diet (decreased bulk), can further aggravate the problem. I would advise you to develop a lifestyle to fight constipation. Drink plenty of water. Regular meals with high fiber content like green leafy vegetables, plenty of fruits, lots of oral fluids and exercise will help relieve constipation.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
