Thank you so much. I'll try what you said. I haven't been diagnosed with IBS; in my history of bowel troubles (there were episodes of extreme gas and diarrhea), the worst diagnosis I got was dyspepsia. ANyways, thanks again.
I don't think that people don't want to help. I think people just don't know how to answer your question.
A lot of times people with IBS have food sensitivities that they're unaware of. A lot of us are gluten intolerant and don't know it. With gluten intolerance comes lactose intolerance. The two problems just go hand-in-hand.
Have you been keeping a food diary? You should keep a food diary of every item you eat, no matter how insignificant it seems to be. You will likely start to see a pattern develop.
One thing that helped me with my IBS was seeing a naturopath. The naturopath started me on an elimination diet/food challenge. She first started me out with the food diary, though, so that is definitely the very first step.
When you keep your diary, be sure you write down all the herbs and spices that are in your foods that you know about. Be sure to write down all the condiments, too. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to just say "chicken sandwich" or "chicken salad", since the ingredients can vary greatly. You will want to be sure to write down any ingredients that you don't normally include in your diet, too. If you have olives, for example, be sure to specify what kind of olives, so you can narrow down what ingredients are bothering you.
I discovered that a lot of my food sensitivities involve sulfites. And, guess what? There are undeclared sulfites in many of the very foods that I had discovered that I was sensitive to, including the gluten and dairy items that were bothering me.
I don't have the same symptoms that you have, but my problems do all go back to food sensitivity issues.
I hope some of this information will help you narrow down what is causing your issues.
