piles

Hi,
I was suffering from constipation which was due to IBS and pain killers.
I developed an external pile which lasted for about 2 weeks. Its now been 3 week.
The swelling and the small lump have disappeared, but I'm still feel a little sore in the area where the pile was.

I read that external piles can take weeks to heal properly even after the lump/swelling have gone.

Any help is appreciated ,thanks Fred

I forgot to mention,If you can you should avoid pain killers, they are the worst for causing constipation, also because I have thyroiditus, I too have constipation problems, Stool softeners help a lot (Dulcolax) has one, take one each night before bed and also a fiber supplement would help. FTB4

The best treatment for exterior, is mild hot soaks, try three soaks a day if possible, the reason they take so long to heal is because the muscle tissue in that area keeps blood from flowing to it, this retards healing, when you sit in a hot tub,it relaxes the muscle and allows better blood flow and it tends to heal much quicker. You should soak for a minimum of twenty minutes. three times a day, or at least twice per day one morning and one at night, but three is best. Good Luck FTB4
