Monday Updates

I was a part of the March 2009 forum with my first son, and we did weekly updates about how we're feeling, what we're going through, we'd write about finding out gender or any other issues or good things that are happening.  It also helps when we may have the same questions/concerns/joys that someone else has too!

I will be 14 weeks tomorrow,  and I believe that the "all day" sickness might finally be subsiding...knock on wood!  Today was the first great day I could say I've had since week 5!
I feel like my belly is getting bigger, but I'm still struggling with clothes...not big enough for a lot of maternity, but regular clothes feel too tight and uncomfortable!  Ugh!
I have been having lots of headaches, and I've been trying not to take Tylenol.  They really are bad sometimes, and it's hard!
We will find out in 4 weeks what the gender is!  Can't wait!
Hope all is well with all of you!

I totally forgot to do my monday update...! I am now 18w4d, and still have my detailed u/s on friday. Can't wait to find out what we are having!!

As for buying things....Back on my first FET in November of 2009 after we had the first u/s and saw the heartbeat we went crazy and bought EVERYTHING. Sadly i misscarried at 12 weeks so i still have everything. The only things we have bought this time is a few onesies undershirts and the paint color. We chose a green color either way...

For valentines day though, DH bought me a beautiful diaper bag filled with baby things like diapers and soothers and such, as well as chocolate. It was really sweet, as he hasn't really connected to this pregnancy yet (because of the first loss). It was the sweetest gift i have ever recieved!!

anyone start buying things (or registering) for the LO? My DS is only a year old and my family threw a shower for me before he was born. Me and my DH have started making a list of additional items we need and my DH is looking for bargains.

I know it's not Monday, but I'm not sure I'll check on Monday. I am 16w 2d and I had an OB appt today. I am pg with twins and this was the first cervix check to make sure that my cervix is not shortening (which can cause preterm labor). It was a great visit. I get an u/s at every visit b/c to check for their h/b's. Today, they did the check via the good u/s machine and the babies look great. They were both so active and I cound actually see all of the bones in their bodies. it was really cool. When I was pg with my DS I did not want to find out the gender, my DH wanted to find out. I compromised - we did not find out with DS but I told him that he could decide about the 2nd pg. He doesn't think he wants to know. I'm so curious.

My next appt. is Feb. 21st, and we have an ultrasound.  We're hoping to find out the sex!!
I am feeling much better.  I still need to watch some things I eat, because I will need Tums after!!  My belly has really started to pop!  I think I may have felt the fluttery feelings, but I'm not certain.  I didn't feel my son until I was 25 weeks, because I had an anterior placenta, so it was in front of the baby.
All is well!  Can't wait for our next appt.!  I love that u/s!

No... All they did was do the pee test for protiens, blood pressure and weight (yikes!). I have a monitor so I wasn't worried about that!

Aren't those little flutters the best! I love it. Remember though some babies are more active then others, different personalities! Be happy you have a quiet baby... I am a little scared mine is so active! My first was like that and 11 years later he still doesn't sit still!

I was sorry to hear about your miscarriages - Very glad you finally got your ob appointment - i'm guessing you must have heard the heartbeat :)  My next ultrasound is also booked for February 18th!!  We are also hoping to find out the sex of the baby then!!  I'm very excited!

The biggest thing that is going on now is that i'm starting to feel little fluttery feelings from the baby!! - I love it - though i don't feel it as often as i'd like!!  Looking forward to those movements getting stronger!!   Roll on the 18th!!  Can't wait to find out who's in there :)

Got my " from here through maternity" book that they give you, a very helpful resource for pregnancy, labor child birth and bringing home baby! My next ultrasound is booked for February 18. Xxxfingers crossedxxxxx baby cooperates and we will find out what we are having!!

How is everyone else doing?

Well for starters we have unexplained infertility, and I had 2 miscarriages in a year after ivf (one being at 12weeks). So my family doctor considers me high risk. I won't get an u/s this Friday, just a regular checkup and a meet and greet! I should be getting a full anatomy scan within the next few weeks so I hope to find out then!

krichar - good luck on Friday!  - I would be really frustrated in your siuatuion!!  It doesn't make much sense to delcare you high rish and then make you have to wait longer to see someone - Is there anything in particular that makes you high risk?  Are you hoping to see the sex of the baby on Friday?

Im good - bought a maternity bra this week as my other one had become SO uncomfortable!!  I actually just spent Sat night and al of Sunday looking after my cousin's 2 year old. while she went into labour and delivered a 9lb 11oz baby girl!!   I get to see the baby today as she's coming home!  very excited and nice to be able to ask lots of questions about the labour and delivery!!!   as this is our first, it was a real eye opener for my husband who got to see her in full labour!! She did great - they left pretty late and baby was born only 90 mins after they got to the hospital!

Well it is Monday again... Nothing really to update. I have my 1st OB/GYN appointment this Friday. Excited to finally have REAL medical care. My "family" doc has been completely useless. Apparently since I am high risk and she doesn't deal with high risk pregnancies I can just sit around for 17 weeks waiting to see a specialist! You would think she would try to see me more to cover bases but I guess not...geez!! Sorry to dump!

I guess I will have more to update next Monday!

thanks toes - i love the idea of a weekly update :)  I was 17 weeks yesterday - i just had a check up and everything is great! My only problem is that like you i've been getting really bad headaches - in fact migraines and they are getting more frequent - I've found that the only things that help are taking a bath or lying down with my head on a hot water bottle - My doctor just prescribed me Vicodin, but I'd really rather not take anything if I can possibly help it!  You must find it hard to cope with when you already have a boy to look after :)  I know that soon I might start to feel the baby, so i'm excited and hoping it happens soon - I can't wait!!  Clothes wise i bought some maternity trousers at 9 weeks which have been great, but it's getting warmer here in LA so I need to go get some skirts!  And my regular bra is so uncomfortable now!!  Shopping this weekend i think!

krichar - that's frustrating you've had to wait to have an ob appointment - good luck on the 4th!

I am 15w5d today. I can for sure say I am feeling better and I have had a bit of energy return. I have yet to have a real prenatal dr.'s visit which is worrisome to me. My family doctor refered me to high risk ob and has kind of pushed me aside since then but I know I am ok! I have had all the u/s and bloodwork and had my blood pressure checked when I was sick. I have my first OB appointment on feb 4 and hopefully an u/s this month where I will find out the sex...woo hoo!!! Still haven't really told anyone, still cautious as this is my 3rd pregnancy in a year.
